I think Jadzia was great. Had all of those guys after her, ie: Quark, Bashir, even Jake and Sisko at one point. 
Not only that, she was brilliant, w/out being genetically altered, like someone who shall remain nameless.

She was doing Becker. So instead of just minimalizing her appearances on DS9, they just killed her off. More dramatic, I guess.
