PostFri Jul 26, 2002 2:11 am    How does the holo-emitter work?

I know it originated in the 29th century and the Doctor got it in "Future's End". But I just want to know the scientific facts... if there's any.

its a more technologically advanced version of the holo deck. smaller to fit in to the mobile emitter. only capable of holding one holographic character, like the doctor.

Take sic bay for example. There are lots of holo emiters in sickbay to project the doctors program. And his program is large and complex, only the main computer copuld hold it.

The mobile emmitter has a larger storage capacity to hold a complex program. Also, it probably only has one or two emmiters because it is at close range. The mobile emmitter is touching the doctor. and as all a hologram is is lights and forcfields then i imagine its just a small field generator, and as it is in contact with him, fewer genrators are needed.

my idea of how an holo emitters works is something like a CRT tube controller with forcefield projection capablity, I may not be correct but it is an idea

holo-emitters simply project light into the form of a person with a preprogramed holo-matrix
