I think the switch from Jadzia to Ezri didn't work too well. I think that either Ezri should have come in sooner (like season 6) or not at all------having only one season to develop a character is asking for trouble.

I agree. Ezri should have come in alot earlier so that her character could have been developed alot more. but i suppose that they had to fill the gap. i always thought that the dominion war was a bit of a let down..there was never a real feeling that the dominion would win. if you know wot i mean.

one thing that annoyed me is that starfleet were using a lot of old ships for their fleets eg. excelcior and miranda class. they also used a lot of the galaxy and nebulae class they should have used more capable ships and we should have seen like a sovereign class for the lead of a fleet and more akira's etc. even maybe prometheus class. but there were too many old ships and galaxys are not exacly an ideal offensive ship like an akira.

Well they had to use everything they could......

I think that the station was maybe a little too "indestructable".

It isn't spiritual----its just not linear. The Wormhole Aliens (aka Prophets) live outside of linear time.

i agree....they used alot of old ships...ships that were around during Kirk's time...i can not imagine the romulans using a 75 year old battleships against the dominion... i would of liked to see more defiant, akira, and sovereign class ships in battle.....and i would of loved to have seen a hand to hang combat with the klingons and jem hadar...that would of been great...

true in ds9 last episode of series 6 there is a constitution refit class there and those were meant too have been decommisioned

but i agree with lindley ezri was in ds9 for too short a period to establish a character perhaps if they kept jadzia out for all of ds9 and had ezri instead things would have been better no offense to jadzia fanz

DS9 had some difficulty getting out from underneath itself during the first two seasons, but character builders like "The Wire", "The Maqoius", and "The Jem'Haddar" in season two helped get the ball rolling. I think that the focus on the prophets and Sisko's role as Emmissary was a bit overdone, but we must remember that the origonal story was about Bajor, not the Federation. Season five through season seven were otherwise gems, providing some of the finest television of the 90's.

I'd agree, right up until the last few episode of season 7, which really needed some serious work. That whole Kai Winn story arc just seemed a little lame. I mean, you'd think that she'd have recognised Gul Dukat from his voice ;-)

On the whole I think season's 5 and 6 were the best, err, basically just after Worf moved in (and they'd stopped filming TNG). IMHO :-)

I agree about Dukat and Winn, but the line does play both to Dukat's evil conscience and Winn's indellible lust for power, both of which had been recuuring storylines since season 1.
