If you ask me there were three great episodes in the 1st season of Enterprise. Broken Bow, Shuttlepod 1, and Shockwave.

But I really think Shuttlepod One stands out as the best story. I think that the writers hit a home run with this episode. It was entertaining. This episode really let Trip and Malclom's characters develop. If I had to rate this episode I'd give it an A+.

There was an episode similar to this on DS9 when Odo and Quark crashlanded on a planet and had to hike up a mountian to set up a rescue beacon...what episode was that again?

I agree, it might have been the best episode so far.

It was a good episode for that, with a few laughs..... not sure if it's my favourite though.

The DS9 episode you're thinking of is "The Ascent".
