All I can say is, start at the beginning and go all the way through. If you try to skip around, it will make *no* sense.
Also, season 5 is almost completely unrelated to seasons 1-4. Its virtually a different series. I will probably watch season 5 once through, but I won't be looking forward to it the way I did with the first four seasons.
That said, the first four seasons are good. There are some rather shocking cast changes along the way, but I think it still works well as a show.

Understatement of the year.......
As I said, Season 5 is horrid. Seasons 2-4 weren't as good as season 1, but at least they were entertaining----especially season 4.

its a show where aliens come to earth and say they want to make peace with use and help use but they lied and they try to wipe us off the face of the earth in the first season or two

Two sites on it. They will seem very different----the first focuses mainly on season 1, while the second focuses primarily on season 5.
