I'm scare it'll stop before it gets to the bottom (or wherever it's going), I take the stairs.

But if I absolutely have to take the lift, I can.

I had a lift at college and it went 8 floors but vibrated and it was quite scary!! so i took the stairs

They seam like a great Idea especialy for large buildings they may be able to build them on the same magnetic pricaples as a monorail, that would alow them to move in any direction.

I would realy like to have them. engineers get right on it

turbolifts in buildings which could go in any direction is quite possible. obviously it would not beable to go too fast because of health hazzards etc. but magnetic corridors in the building is a possibility. wheres the lifts use magnetic acceleration to get from one side to another. however to actually make the use of this feaseable the building would need to be wide enough to warrant the use of such a lift system otherwise it would just be a useless idea.

I dont think the electronics would fry, the bullet trains don't, you could build it on the same principle of magnetic movement. My fear is when the power gose out. in a regular elivator the gears cease to function and the thing stops, but if the magnets all of a suden are no longer magnatised, back to the ground floor you go (if in a vertical shaft, in a horizontal one it wouldent matter).
