I'm quite confused. I've purchased both the novelizations of Emissary and The Search, but both appear to be the premiere episode of DS9. Which is actually the first episode?

Emissary is the pilot episode.
"The Search" is the season 2-end cliffhanger, and the episode in which they first get the Defiant.
