PostTue Jul 16, 2002 5:30 pm    To build or not to build, that is the question!

I just heard on the news that New York has decided to rebuild the Twin Towers. Tell me what you think and if they should or should not build them. Or something else they should build.

Well thats a tough one, maybe yes maybe no. I dont think you can replace such an important, historic Landmark.

But having said that I think they should replace it with something but maybe they should use a different design. Are they planning to build on the same site?

From what i've been told yes, the area is now a memorial and i guess they are building the two towers right where they were.

I think the ruins shall remain, as a reminder of what has happened.

^ The ruined steele and such were hauled off to the nearest scrap yard.

I don't think that is a good idea; I think they should have left it as a memorial.

If they do build again they I think they should build a statue or something out side the new buildings as a reminder and a tribute to all those who died.

I'm not to clear on what the buildings are going to be used for, i imagine the same thing they were usded for before, but i believe they are making a memorial of some kind inside or outside the building. They didn't specify.

They should make a memorial instead, in honor of those who died.

Indeed. Just as they did with Pearl Harbour. Theres a big big memorial where all the names of the dead are listed.

Yeah, they should've left the ruins as a reminder of everything that happened...and those who sacrificed there life. Maybe they shouldve even stuck an American Flag in the center of the ruins to show that we may have been injure dby Bin Laden's attack...but we're far from being down for the count

I dont think they should rebuild it cos it will be a constant reminder of Terrorism. I think they should make a memorium park or something with a message like "This was the day Terrorism was stopped" cos it was lke they attacked Afganistan and rid most of Bin Ladens troops and so on.

Why should they re-build the Twin Towers, I mean come on think about it if they get re-bulidt the 911 attackes could be re-lived next year our in the years to come and that is something we don't need is to re-live the 911 attacks if they want to re-bulid them then re-bulid them small not like they were befor high up in the sky cause if they are down lower to the grown then there is no way they can fall down again, so that is what i think.

Well Kai, Julia...you both may be right, but looka t all the memories those towers bring. Yes, rebuilding them could bring worse thigns...but it can also bring abck good things too.

Exactly, you never know either. Julia, the keyword there is COULD. Not will, could. Heck, by the times the towers are rebuilt if they rebuild them, Bin Laden or whoever could be caught by then.
