The latest news is that Star Trek: Nemesis will open on December 20th, 2002.
Unfortunately, this is only two days after the opening of "LOTR: The Two Towers". That means they'll be competing.
Keep in mind that this is an unconfirmed rumor. Hopefully they'll be smart enough to start it a week later instead......

you hope. Though it'd be fun to see who Will Win in the Box Office. Kinda Like Star Wars Episode II coming out May 16. (I think it's the 16th *laughs*)

if you go to star trek.com it says that Majel Barrett (Lwaxana Troi) wont be in the movie.

That's unfortunate, I really liked her character.
Anyway, releasing the movie immediately after LOTR (by the way, there is a petition to rename "The two towers" to "something less offensive. I have no comment on that) does sound like a bad idea.

same here.. why change it? it's really stupid. it's like taking out the twin towers scene from spider-man..
speaking of spider man $114 million it's first weekend...
That means one thing:
I NEED ALL OF YOU STARWARS FANS TO GO SEE IT IN THE FIRST 3 DAYS SO WE CAN BEAT SPIDERMAN

Unlikely. On the other hand if all trekkies worldwide agree to go during the first 2 days, we might approach that number.

Nemesis is facing a release within weeks of LOTR: The Two Towers. That in itself will reduce sales. However, I think it will do very well even so.
