From what I have seen I would have to say that I think Janeway is a better Captain than Archer. Janeway is not so buddy-buddy with her crew if you know what I mean. There is a margin of athourity present that their is not with Archer

I LOVE Janeway. I think she was awesome as a captain!
What I want to know is why so many people think she wasn't. Why would you single out Janeway vs. Archer? Why not Archer vs. Kirk, they are closer in the timeline.

I guess I missed it. Maybe because I like Janeway so much, I just notice when people don't like her more than the other Captains. Oh well.

Well, you can like Voyager without liking Janeway (though I can't see how.) But a lot of my friends like Voyager, but they hate Janeway. Anyways, all those people should be shot (Please don't take that seriously.)

janeway wins by a mile, archer is my least favourite captain, he is to cocky and lighthearted, i think a more stern character would have suited it better. janeway is an awesome character, so is piccard, they are the best two. sisko's captaincy isnt tested enough, through conflicts etc so we cant really judge him

acher the first captain into the great unknown of space, his first ship and star fleets first warp capable to 4.5, traveling to unknown areas just like janeway and always finding new techonly like janeway, whats why acher and janeway are tied

I would have to say Janewa, she is more intellegent and doesn't let her emotions get in the way. She isn't Vulcan but can stay well tempered when needed.
