How effective are DS9's defensive capabilities? I'm sure I saw an episode(or part of) where it was getting attacked by alot of ships, and was managing to hold out.

So does anyone know just how good DS9 is at kicking butt?

Well, its got 5000 photon torpedoes, multiple rotating launchers, at least six----probably more----integrated phaser banks.......

Its pretty darn tough.

However, all that is *after* the upgrade, which was in Part 1 of "Way of the Warrior".

Before that, they had only the most basic defenses. In the pilot, their defensive capabilities consisted of six torpedoes.....not even shields.
