See what I mean. There's so many possibilities and such, it's hard to find one that everyone agrees on. I mean look at the people who think that the planet is still flat. Even with all that proof they still don't believe us.

Let's face it...the guy who designs all these new species at paramount is a human after all(...or maybe not... )....
guess he couldn't help himself...
Also...maybe it's been done on purpose...to enable the audience to relate to the characters better.....i mean...it wouldn't be the same if Tuvok was a slimy eel and Neelix was a reptile or something....

It was about an Archieologist who found this genetic code that when totally complete, played a message left by a race who long sinced past. The message said that the race's scientists planeted a genetic "seed" in our proteins when we were in primordial status that caused us to take the race's general shape, that's why Cardassians, Talaxians, Romulans, Vulcans, Klingons, Humans, ect., look exactly alike. This explains why all the races seem to look human when in fact we were comparing the wrong race. We should now compare it to that race instead, if some of us haven't already. Long huh?

lol, I get your point, what is the race we came from?

What I dont understand is y everyone looks like us!1 Somepeople say it's cuz we are all humanoids but whats the key word in that?? HUMANoids~~ I guess it would be pretty funny being Klingoniod Vulcanoids,or Romulanoids!! I guess if you look at every comman alien out there humans are the base of everyone... We have a flat forhead, etc! Every one just bulids off of us!!

I believe there was another explanation for the races looking simular, each race developed on an M class planet an atmosphere simular to our own and because of that evolved into the humaniod lifeform to properly manuver around the ground and breath, process blood etc...

That makes sence but that still doesnt explain y the word Humanoid is based around the word human... Especially since we wernt nearly the first people in space!

Well humans founded the federation so it makes sence they call other species humaniod if they have 2 legs 2 arms a body and a head. We occasionally seem other species calling species humaniod they are members of the federation and just adapted the term.

Not all look the same. In one episode (TOS I think) they explained why Alpha Q. races looked similar. It was because we evolved from 1 anciet race. Scientists nw think that other races may be similar to ours (if they exist - which they must! ) would look slightly smilar because they proabably would evolve in similar condidtions that we did.

Ok get this...There are trillions of stars in our galaxy. There are more tars than grains of sand in all the beaches on all of the Earth. Now if just 1 out of every Thousand had some planets and just 1 out of a million had a *m-class* planet that would mean there wold be millions of planets capable of life. The only trouble is we can't look hard enough to find us. I mean if wre were alone it would be an awuful waste of space!

There's probably a race out there somewhere that speaks English!
Considering how vast our own galaxy is (let alone our universe)there is a pretty big chance.
