Note: I have seen the "Enterprise Novels" thread and intend this to be seperate.
Enterprise "By The Book" By Dean Wesley Smith and Kristine Kathyrn Rusch
This is the summery from the back of the book.
In their first few weeks in space, Captain Johnathan Archer and the crew of the Enterprise have already discovered several new species and explored strange new worlds. But each planet brings new discoveries...and new dangers.
ENTERPRISE By The Book
The Fazi, whose ultraregulated culture ranges from strict conversation protocols to unvarying building designs, inhabit half of a planet discovered by the ENTERPRISE. But after a disastrous first contact with the ruler of the Fazi, Archer must depend on Vulcan sience officer T'Pol and communication specialist Ensign Hoshi Sato to help him mend relations with the people of the planet, and unravel the mystery of the other creatures living on the world.

(spoilers)
I thought the RPG, more than anything else, is what made this specifically an Enterprise story. No other Trek book would do that.

Aside from the novelizations of "Broken Bow" and "Shockwave", the next Enterprise books will be called "What Price Honor".

Sometime after Part 2 airs, I would think.

Which isn't really a bad thing. Books which are written before a series has a chance to establish itself tend to have problems. Take, for instance, the TNG novel "Ghost Ship". The characterizations are way off, because it was written before TNG premiered (with only the scripts to work from).
