I just got this book for Easter and was wondering what everyone's opinion on it. I haven't read it yet, but a friend of mine was talking to me about it and said it should be really interesting. What do you all think? I can't wait to read it...a whole book about Betazoids!

hey, it sounds cool! didn't know it existed, maybe I will pick up a copy...
is it the battle to take back betazed, or the battle that loses it?
cuz I would prefer the latter and then a seperate book for the former....

The book features Troi and Commander Elias Vaughn, before he was assigned to DS9. I'll read it as soon as I get through the B5 trilogy "Legions of Fire" and the SW hardcover "The Approaching Storm".

Wow! somebody else that reads B5 books other than myself!! is that trilogy any good? B5 books are so hard to find in england these days other than in borders. Battle of Betazed is one of my faves.

I've read it now..... I think the detail is very good, but later on they sort of have to hurry the ending into a few chapters. But overall very good.

I agree..I was impressed by the fact that they actually called the sabres sabre-class ships....in most of the books I have read the authors dont bother with naming what class ship it was and just make up their own description.....and alot of the aliens seem to have feathers in the books but never in the series.....I can't exactly remember which books it is but I think they're mainly Voyager ones lol...I have heard rumours that there is an anthology coming out which tells more stories of the dominion war????Is this true do ya know?

I've now read 10 B5 books; the three canon trilogies (Legions of Fire, The PsiCorps trilogy, and the Passing of the Technomages trilogy), and they're all excellent. The 10th book is The Shadow Within, which is sort of a prequel to the Technomage trilogy, but also works as a standalone. That one is considered canon also.

The only canon B5 book I haven't read (because its out of print) is To Dream In the City of Sorrows. And I haven't read any of the noncanon books either.

Yes, Its due out in 2004. There's a different anthology celebrating the 10th aniversary which should be out any month now. Supposedly, the 10th aniversary is supposed to feature a short story by Andrew Robinson (Garak), to complement his excellent book "A Stich In Time".

Actually, the tenth anniversary book is a continuation of the DS9 relaunch. It should cover Bajor's admission to the Federation and the reunification of the Bajoran faith...if what I have been able to foresee from the Mission Gamma Series is true (I'm still on the 2nd nook so I could be wrong in some of the details here). By the way it will be called Unity and will be out in April.

^The one I'm talking about is in addition to Unity. While it might have relaunch elements, its not totally relaunch.

I bought the three trilogies along with The Shadow Within several weeks ago. I thought that the Telepath trilogy was really good along with the Centauri one although the technomage one I'm reading now is a bit slow...I'm on book 3....The Shadow Within is pretty good. I have the reprint issue of The Shadow Within with the new cover and apparently later on in the year To Dream in the City of Sorrows will be re-released as well.....I'm sure I read it somewhere. I have read books 1, 2, 3, and 6 of the non-canon books and to be honest they are all pretty poor; esspecially the first one. Are you gonna get the B5 DVDS? I have season 1 and am going to pre order season 2 as soon as it becomes available from amazon.co.uk

That Dominion War anthology sounds pretty good. I have read all of the Mission Gamma books and thought they were all very slow and I quickly lost interest in all except book 4 which was a little more interesting...unfortunately it happened to be the shortest of the lot, lol, just my luck. I also have Gateways book 7 waiting to be read and I'm also in the progress of readin Rogue as well....its ok so far.....too many books too little time

^If you've read Mission: Gamma, check out Rising Son. I liked that one a lot.

I bought B5 season 1 the day it came out. I'm going to preorder B5 S2 very soon.....I'm just waiting to see if anyone has a better price than www.northamericandvd.com . With season 1, I heard that Amazon.ca was actually a little cheaper.
