I just very recently (like within the past couple weeks) have gotten into Anime. But I don't really know much about it yet, like who are the best illustrators? what titles shoud I look for? where do I find it? I unfortunately don't get Cartoon Network, so I have to get my fix on the internet but I don't know where to look or what to look for.

Akira toryama (pardon if the spellings incorrect on the last name) made Dragonball and Dragonball Z. Gundam, Gundam the 08th MS team, Gundam Wing and Endless waltz are good ones. so is The Flame Of Recca (Honu Del Recca) and Samurai X, along with Outlaw Star. these are just some of the best not all the best but a start.

Dont forget about Akira! Awesome movie. The dark psychology of these films is what has always attracted me. The new DBZ episode come out on VHS (and dvd, I think) Feb 12

Akira = Classic
The first anime movie I've ever watched.

Ghost in the Shell = Another great movie... classic potential.

My favorite anime series has to be Ranma 1/2. VERY weird in its contents, however exetremely funny.

I just saw "Akira" for the first time two weeks ago....very good!! Has anyone heard of a new Anime movie that's just coming out called "Metropolis"? I've read some great reviews about it; Roger Ebert says it's excellent. But I can't find it anywhere around where I live.
