Some episodes were useless, and the show was darker than what we are used to, but overall, I don't think it was that bad.

DS9 was one of the best things to happen to trek. The reason you'd think that the episodes are weird is because DS9 had realy complicated story arcs. You'd have to watch almost all of the episodes before so you can understand.

I remember watching it for the first time. I didn't like it. Then I watched the one after it and became addicted.

I'll try to keep longer than 5 seconds by it (that would be my own record!)

Try Trials and Tribble-ations. That one has TOS and DS9 in it. Might make it easier for you to watch, hold your interest longer.

I think the most boring part about DS9 was the ferengi family visiting the station. It didnt make much sense to me. When the dominion wars where getting close to home then i actually started to take more interest in the series.

DS9 was an excellent show...when it found it's stable writing team, producers, directors, once it had consistency. Up until the third season it was crap, inconsistent crap at that. Once it stabilized with story arcs and character development it was EXCELLENT! Too bad more people didn't recognize it. B5 had the same problems the first two or so years, I guess it just takes time.

I agree too. DS9 sucked for the in the early seasons, until about when the Dominion came into play.

DS9 was a pretty good show but it did get kinda complicated at times.

Actually for b5, it was intenally done that way in the first season, don't forget, B5 was writen 15 years before being prduced, as for Ds9, it came out great. After they encountered the Jem'Hadar, it formed a dramatic storyline that led to the Dominion War.

One thing on DS9 that was a bit stupid was in an episode in season 6 (i think...can't remember name) was when the cardassians & dominion etc sent 50 ships to retake DS9. DS9 alone took out almost all of the ships! The defiant was still laying the mines and at the last minute when the defiant finished, a bird of prey helped. defiant took out like 1 ship, the bird of prey took out 3 i think so DS9 took out like 30 of them!

Just seems a bit far'fetched

In case you forgot, DS9 and the Defiant took only a few Dominion ships out. The Dominion took over the station. They got it back a few episodes later.

I thought it was somat like that, i know there is one episode when that basically happens when it's like DS9, defiant, BOP vs dominion/cardassian fleet.

I just can't remember. I did have them all on my computer but i don't have them anymore

I know a LOT of people who didn't get into DS9 until the third season or maybe after. And when TNG made it's debut in Britain (1989 or 1990 I think), a lot of people didn't like it. It took until the third season for it to really take off.

I liked DS9 but I do think it was pretty much an acquired taste.

Every trek series in history has had trouble the first one or two seasons, after that (when they find their 'true' forms) they get better. Ds9 made the best recovery; it was the worst at first and then became the best trek series in recent memory.

DS9 gave hope to trek Franchise. It indeed is a great series. I would have stopped watching Trek if it wasn't for DS9.
just my opinion

Not when you consider that the station has 5,000 photon torpedoes at its disposal at that point, in addition to multiple phaser banks.

DS9 is an odd series. Yes, when you first start out, it can seem to be rather dull.

However, DS9 rewards loyalty far more than any of the other shows----if you stick with it, you'll find that it builds on itself and creates a story of epic proportions over time. That's something that none of the other Trek series have done. Heck, ENT attempted it with its third season, but it didn't turn out as well as DS9.
