Tom wasn't trying to reach transwarp in the Delta Flyer. He was trying to reach warp 10, occupying all space at the same time.

Oh yeah...sorry sorry....you're right.....
But then....if he experienced these effects at warp 10...can't if be possible that they would be even more pronounce at transwarp??..... or maybe not...

I still can't figure out why slipstrem travel could be harmful for humans....

going into slipstream is like going Mach-10.. not human body would be able to take that kind of pressure, the body would litteray turn itself inside out

Well, but Voyager's done it a couple of times......
...like the time when the deltaflyer managed to cross over but voyager could not because they entered the wrong coordinates....
.I agree that re-entry into normal space midway through an incursion could lead to disaster....but I don't think brief jumps into slipstream can pose a great risk to the crew.

so i guess that means you would like to be a test pilot for when the first slipstream drive is created.

What I can't understand is why Voyager can't carry on taking short, brief jumps into slipstream.......once it's sure that there aren't any more gliches in the co-ordinate targeting system...the last one they took when harry and chakotay sent the wrong co-ordinates lasted just about 6 mins but took 10 years off their journey. That way the crew can avoid any side-effects and they'd be home by the time the ship's systems started falling apart.

By the way, yes I do read the earlier posts by other members, otherwise there's no point in writing about a topic, is there???
And no, I'd much rather prefer not to be the first guy to have to test all the theories everyone, including me, is putting up.

Also I don't think Voyager had the corridenants to get home, considering they were only trying to get back to the Alpha Quad.

Yeah, well, getting back to the alpha quadrant would be good enough.

I'm assuming that harry at least can calculate the co-ordinates to get them about arounf 1000 light-years away from home.

When Voyager went to the Delta Quad, They must of used some form of Slipstream.

No, I don't think it was a slipstream, rather some type of spacial distortion. I don't think a passageway like that would be very stable. I guess it was more of a accident due to the caretaker.

Maybe. But I still don't understand why Voyager didn't point themselves in the direction that they came from, and fly back.

Voyager was dragged into the delta quadrant due to a spacial anomaly , I don't think they can create one themselves...

I really don't think what velocity they're going at is going to make a difference, as long as they are in inertial equlilbrium.
