Well, there has to be a war w/ the Romulans and the Klingons, so they could make that run for awhile.

no they don't even have a war with them even though they would screw up the timeline but the bad thing is that the Federation will have like no ships

I think that it will be too restricted in the fact of technology and aliens, with it being set before the others...
A series based on an Enterprise G (is it?) would be cool.
But still, I bet it will be good.
When is it out in the UK? (seen as I live here and Voyager hasn't even finished yet! - and I mean on UK Sky aswell!).

In the history of the Federation, there was a war w/ the Klingons and a seperate one w/ the Romulans. It is even referred to on BALANCE OF POWER. TOS So they cannot exclude that in good conscience.

I don't know about this. I have mixed feelings. Yeah a new star trek would be great but a pre-tos that just sounds..... well wrong. I mean how are they going to go from all these technologies to having nothing (well next to nothing) again. Plus the writers are going to have to go back and go through all the tos eppies and make sure they are not giving the new show something that didn't exist on Tos, how embrassing would that be. But it just seems to be more trouble than its worth.

Hey well to respond to your post someone said that the aprox sieze of Starfleet is like 20 ships but that could be wrong someone else also said that following the ST timeline there could actualy be a war w the klingons and/or romulans well we don't know if that is true either but remember those old crappy switch boards that everyone hates well they are back again and a funny thing is that klingons might actualy look like what they did in TOS or they might not well that is some stuff to tell you but it might not all be true ok

I really think they should make an episode dated after Voyager cause I've only heard 3 people say that they were thrilled with the idea of before Kurk. I mean the technology on the Enterprise-B other than a few uninvented features like warp travel are pretty much the same as 2001. But something before would just be too primative for my taste. And the rolly eyes on janeway9's colmn shouldn't be there cause I feel the same way they do about Voyager.

It would be alot better to see something after Voyager... They would probably get higher ratings. But I really think that Voyager was the best. Although I don't mind TNG but the origional's technology was about where ours is now. But something before primative... that is totally unthinkable.

I think you guys dont like the idea of this because you never really liked TOS.I dont think this is going to be anything like tos. The special effects will be the same as voyagers. so they have switch boards. who cares. The delta flyer had a switch board but noone whines about that. lol, I think maybe you should just give this series a chance before you blow it off like a emh mark 1.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. It's goot to have a series before TOS. How the hell are you going to get the real story of what happened before kirk. From what I heard, it's approx 100 years b4 kirk, and approx 100 years after Zefram Cochrane flew the Pheonix and the vulcans made first contact. Also from the grape vine, it all you "Dedicated ST People" who would know the line in the TNG Eppisode #189 when Picard tells the Malcorian Leader that the reason why they do inteligence ops on new species is because before they make first contact they do not want to make a mistake that would cause an all out war due to a misunderstanding of a diferent culture, because it happened when the Federation made "First Contact with the Klingons" Approximately the time when Enterprise will be based in... I have sufficient reason to believe that Enterprise will have the Klingon First Contact in it, and they will have a war. Now I don't know about you, but I think that the UFP will have more than 20 ships... I think atleast 70 to maybee 100. But don't quote me on that one, that's just a guess. As for the romulans are concearned... i haven't heard anything about them yet, but i am guessing that they will be in the show aswell.
Now as for having the show after voyager... THAT'S WHAT MOVIES ARE FOR! and well, they just might have another series... they still have another 7 years to think what to do (or how ever long the Enterprise series will run for.)

Maybe things would go smoother if Janeway and Chakote had died and then 7 of 9 siezed the ship and became Captain. With Neomie Wildmen as her 1st officer. Teaching her perfection. The traditional Borg Way. LOL
