This is a quote from Futurama, "At least Picard admits he's bald"

I would have to say Picard, i would say he is a better leader.

lol, cute
While guys who can talk are good, sometimes you just have to act.
Kirk was an action kind of guy, and Picard was just to cerebral. If he had balanced it out, who knows.

I also liked the fact that Kirk never asked his crew to do something that he would not be willing to do. I think, though it makes sense, that they made a mistake in TNG in not allowing the Captain to lead the away teams as often. DS9 and Voyager were more like TOS in the fact that the captain was actively involved.

Riker didn't want Picard to go on any away missions and they had an agreement that he wouldn't go only if it is a odd situation like when it envovles archeoligy

When Kirk was captain, they needed someone like him, because all of space was still a frontier, and you never heard of a diplomatic cowboy, did you? He had to fight for every inch. When Picard came into the scene, things were a whole lot different. The federation was much larger, and they had more allies, and more than 13 starships.

yah that is true but Kirk was suppose to be a mean agressive person and in the original they didn't really get into crew relationships and stuff that they have in TNG DS9 and voyager

That's right. TOS was mainly about exploring space, meeting new species, etc....
Crew relationships were secondary, except of course for Kirks libido.

Yes if they would of had more ships and better systems on the ships they would of meet alot of more species then they did because compared to Voyager Ds9 and TNG
