apparant mass, when a ship enters fluidic space it compresses slightly, like a man in a bath, the level rises and the ships detect this through the nervous system like we detect napalm in the pants and then they respond... it is parallel

Actually, I think the singularities are only portals into fluidic space, not fs itself. So only the entrances are similar in nature to wormholes. I mean, if fluidic space itself were ever to collapse, no more problem from 8472.
So I think either Captain_DG is incorrect, or perhaps what he wrote wasn't what he meant entirely.

What I have always wondered, is fluidic space like in the galaxy as we know it, or is it like in a parallel universe with its own galaxies and whatnot... if so, why is 8472 the only species from it?
