Whoever mentioned Captain's Chair, it is cool. Besides viewing videos (accessed from specific consoles), you can do stuff like, on Voyager, you can self-destruct the ship, or land the ship.
The Ent-D can saucer separate.
On the Ent-E, you can enter a command sequence on one panel, and no other panel will work until you reenter it again (a lock-out).
All ships can be taken to warp, or dropped to impulse.
Anyway, I reccomend it, even though it does get boring after a while.

Is it only good if you are interested in all the tech or is it good fun anyway?

Don't get it unless you actually want to explore the bridges. Its not good for much else. Although all ships allow you to fire phasers or torpedoes (and somtimes launch shuttles), there is nothing to shoot at. Its not an action game.

Well I think I want Captain's Chair now (I thought you were just stood in one place looking around -not worth buying it) but if you can do all that then perhaps I will have to get a copy. And I got my encyclopaedia off of eBay...there are quite a few and they tend to go quite cheap generally.
