My mom, bought a CD, with some american songs, like God Bless American, Battle Hynm of the Republic, and 14 more songs. What do you think, is perfect for the time, and which do you like?

I know this isn't a american song but the name of the song I like is called Scarecrow. It is sang by John Cougar.

Last summer (before any of this happened), I was in a HS orchestra group called "American Music Abroad".

We played things like America the Beutiful, etc. The finale of each concert we did was "Stars and Stripes Forever" (GREAT piece for instrumental).

We also played some music not specifically American, like "Lord of the Dance", "Phantom of the Opera" and "Star Wars Medley".

The actual title to that song is "God Bless the USA", by Lee Greenwood. I like that, too. I like the national anthem, because it was written on what was thought to be the eve of a massive loss for the US, in which they overcame. It's not just words, it's true.

That is a good song but in my opion the best american song ever is "Born in the USA" by Bruce Springstein.

Speaking of which, did you notice on Weakest Link, Denise Crosby accidentally got that question right? Anne asks what is the Candian national anthem, Crosby get's a "this is a wild guess" look on her face, and says......."Oh, Canada?"

LOL, I've seen several different versions of that song (same song, different graphics).

That particular one didn't play too well, but it's still funny!
