I happen to like Babylon5, and I've seen quite a bit of what I would consider "good sci-fi" on the Sci-Fi channel. And Buffy the vampire slayer IS good

EWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for that LOVELY fact Shen, I shall sleep easier knowing that...
Definitely not history--either sci-fi or fantasy, or horror, depending on the nature of the show. I'd say Buffy is probably fantasy, but it was mentioned above, so I thought I'd agree

Babylon 5 is NOT a copy of Star Trek except in the fact that they're both about space. You may not realize that from just a few episodes, but it has a TOTALLY different focus, and the story arc is tightly woven between episodes, something ST has never done. Oh, and even if it were a copycat, it still is VERY good.
There's one on tonight, where I am it's 7pm EST on SciFi, I don't know about your country. Tonight's is the fan-rated best B5 episode ever, so I suggest you watch it if possible. It may change your mind.

I CANT BELIEVE YOU SAY BABYLON5 IS CRAP! Babylon5 is my fave scifi show, better than startrek and, babylon5 is something u have to watch from the beginning. The atmosphere and storyline structure was what made it good. The shadow war was the highlight of the show which was exellent, then came the civil war over earth. It was pure genious, its a shame it didnt catch the pulic eye but i still have it in my heart always and forever.
