look at the enterprise from the new show,doesn't it look like the akira class ship seen in star trek first contact when they are fighting the borg?

I don't know why it looks like a Akira class starship. But does anyone know what class Enterprise is?

The NX- prefix indicates a prototype, so it would probably be Enterprise-class. However, more likely they don't yet have a need for class designations, since its the only Starfleet ship of that speed.

maby the akira class is a 'retro' ship, kinda like the new beetle.

Yes i noticed the same akira class starship on the ArmadaPC game just alittle different.But its pretty cool looking.

1: The Enterprise has it's nacells slanted up, not down like the Akira class.
2: There are only so many possible designs of ships with a saucer section.
3: The Enterprise is an NX class starship.

Actually as already mentioned in the show Enterprise is an NX class starship
