Author's note: This story takes place on a planet not within the milky way galaxy, roughly around the time where Columbus was discovering the americas.
The Planet's name was Xenadu, and it had three continents, each with a seperate specie on it.
To the north, near the polar ice cap, there was a small island, with humanoid creatures, who lived in houses of wood and mud, who used thier' technological minds to build things using fire, wood, mud, leaves, and vines.
To the south-west, there was a somewhat larger island with lizard-like beings who ate almost anything. These beings lived in caves, or buildings made of stone and brick. They did not build much, other then thier stone and brick houses, and boats to fish off of.
And in the middle-eastern area, there was the smallest island on the planet, with beings that resembled trees. These trees could swim through the waters, had wisdom of the generations, and lived, simply, with all of it's needs provided by the earth.
This planet, would one day, eventually design a few space ships, which would discover thier' neighbouring planet, and it's rich resources.
Until then, two of the species lived in constant fear of the third.
The lizard beings who called themselves the Sokhal ate anything, from wood, to people, to fish.
The humanoid species called themselves the Lenatra, and the tree beings were simply trees. Nobody called them other then what they were because unless you were talking to them, you didn't know if they were trees or not.
This story, specifically, involves a couple of Lenatra who are "shunned" from typical society, for thier "unique" beliefs.

Chapter 1: Innocent beginnings.
Astor stared at the thing they were working on. His people didn't like the way he, and Lorellia thought. The two of them had claimed that it was possible to take one of the "boats" they used for fishing, and, using some basic metal smithing, which was frowned upon, be able to make these boats fly.
Nobody believed they could do it.
As he was busily "Forging" the last parts of the flying boat, Lorellia was "sewing" the last of the leaves together.
He looked at the plans for the flying boat, which he and lorellia has chiseled into stone, and he smiled.
It had taken them so long to learn mathematics, and Astor was sure he would never have a use for it, but now, it was everything.
The span of the leaves, which would collect the heated air, the dimensions of the boat, everything was based on mathematics.
"I'm finished." Lorellia said with a smile.
Astor leaned over the side of the porch.
"I'm almost done. Just have to cool it off." Astor replied.
"Alright, I'll go hook this onto the boat." She said, nodding, and went off towards the "dock"
Astor grabbed the bucket of water, and dipped the piece of metal into it. It hissed instantly, when it came in contact, but it stopped glowing orange.
He pulled it out, several minutes later, and carefully brought the heavy piece of metal towards the boat, and started stalling it onto the "spinner" which would cause the boat to move.
"There. That should do it." Astor said calmly.
"I'm ready." Lorellia said, from onboard the boat.
"Same here. I'm comming aboard." Astor replied.
As he climbed aboard the small ship, he smiled. It had taken the two of them 3 years to build this thing, and FINALLY it was ready.
"Do we have enough lava-stones to keep the fire going?" Lorellia asked.
"Yes. And enough timber, as well. The cargo hold is almost over-flowing with it." He replied.
"So what are we going to call this contraption?" Lorellia asked.
Astor sat down infront of the oven, and began putting the lava-stones, and timber within it's chambers.
"It's a flying boat... so let's call it what it is." Astor said queitly.
"What about... an Airship?" Lorellia asked.
Astor thought over the name a few times.
"I like it." Astor said with a smile.
He grabbed his two flints, and began striking them. Slowly, the fire started, which heated the lava-stones, causing them to glow a light orange-red color.
The "chimney" of the stove was hooked up with the leafy canopy, which slowly began to rise, and form an oblong-like shape, as it filled with hot air.
"And they said we'd never get it to work." Lorellia said, with a huge grin on her face.
The airship raised off the ground a few feet... and then a few more feet, as the canopy grew to it's full height.
Finally, it lifted off, and settled at an astonishing height of about 45 meters, which, at this point, all three cities to the south could see.
Astor sat down in the "pilot" seat, and began peddling, which caused the "spinner" to start moving slowly, propelling them forward.
Lorellia looked over the side of the ship, and saw people in the village below point up at it, in wonder.
Astor watched as the entire continent spread before him, and he looked at the sea in wonder.
It was right about then that something caught his eye, which completely astonished him.
There was a lizard boat docked at the southernmost city, and most of the city was set on fire.
"Lorellia! Look!" He said, pointing at the city.
Her eyes grew wide, and she nodded.
She went down below deck for a moment, and then came back up with her bow, and a quiver full of crude arrows.
As she ran to the edge of the ship, she watched below her.
"Somebody stop them! They are taking all the women!" a voice yelled from the town.
Lorellia took aim, fired, and narrowly missed hitting one of them.
"Lorellia! Set one on fire, and aim for the boats! It should sink before they get to them!" Astor yelled, as he tried to get the airship there faster.
She nodded, and grabbed one of the leaf-bundles, and attached it to her arrow.
Carefully, she opened the stove, which caused it to exhaust some heat her way, and the airship lowered slightly.
She stuck the arrow in, and the leaf bundle erupted in flame.
Quickly, being careful not to trip, she went back to the edge, and fired it at one of the boats.
She missed, and set the dock on fire.
"That works too!" Astor said with a grin, as he kept on peddling.
"Or not." Lorellia replied, as she watched the lizards, still carrying the women walk into the water, throw the women onto the boats, and then jump into them, themselves.
Astor stared at her.
"We have to follow them." He said.
She simply nodded.

Since I was rootingstar trek voyager
for Mya to win Dancing with the Stars last night, I feel a bit like the nerdy kid in high school who loses the race for bones complete series

how you dance, it's about how popular you are.
Back when the 16 cast members for Dancing with monk dvd
the Stars season 9 were announced, we asked fans Dexter dvd boxset
to vote for who was the most famous. After more than 1,000 votes, Donny Osmond was light years ahead of everyone else with 62 percent vote. Melissa Joan Hart was in second place with just 10 percent.
In other words, Donny Osmond'sstar trek voyager dvd
victory on Dancing with the Stars was pretty much ensured before he even stepped foot on the dance floor. Donny wasn't just the most star trek voyager complete series

In the semi-finals, Joanna Krupa and DerekDisney dvd collection
