You are right about Sisko didn't die. I guess you could say he became a Prophet.
I wasn't too big on Picard. He acted like he a stick up his....rear.
As for the topic, I think killing Picard would have been dramatic, but ST would never do that.
Although if that was done....that would signal the TRUE death of TNG as movies.

Nah, Picard was always telling Riker to go do this or go do that... He made himself pretty boring. Hence, it wouldn't have really made a difference if he was gone or not.

Mhmmm. In which case Riker should have been captain. Hence saving all that wasted air that Picard used up.

I would have either killed off Wesley Crusher(Damn annoying Kid) or Worf(Stupid ugly Klingon).
I don't think Picard, Data, Troi, DOCTOR Crusher, or anyone else would have been worth it, and I dissaprove of Paramount's choices, lol.

if one of them had to be killed out of data and picard no offence to anyone but i would say data because every ship needs its captain no mater how pittiful the mission is

Well, Captain Jean-Luc Picard is my favorite Star Trek Captain to date. Killing him would be "dramatic"...but, if I say so myself...a little too dramatic. It is still possible to do TNG movies, at least one more. If they had any chances of still making TNG movies, killing Picard would totally ruin that. Picard is symbolic with TNG...
-Then, again...so was Data...but, that is different. All Star Treks still need a Captain, ya know?
Well, now that I got that outta the way...
Wesley Crusher - Sorry to say it...I liked Wesley, I really did...but one thing angered me about him. As many of you have pointed out, how can Wesley, an Ensign with no StarFleet experience (no Academy, that is), solve so many problems? I mean, if he is so smart, wouldn't that make the rest of the crew..obsolete? C'mon! Let La Forge do his job, boy!
William Riker - That would be interesting. As you fellows pointed out, it would be devastating to Troi. A sad moment, no?
Deanna Troi - Same as above...I wonder what his reaction would be, compared to what Troi's reaction would be...
Beverley Crusher - No...I don't want her to die...Never...
Geordi La Forge - What?!? No way! C'mon...my name is LA FORGE! I don't want the best Star Trek character to die!
Here is my top choice...
WORF - Worf's death would have a huge impact on Star Trek fans, I would think. Worf is the Klingon! Worf is THE Klingon! IMO, the most important Klingon than any other, in the entire Star Trek mythos. I love Worf. Killing Worf would be...dramatic...to TNG and DS9 fans alike.
Tally HO!

I would kill off Tasha Yar...(I don't even know if she died or not on the series) but I'd kill her still the same. I hated - or rather I disliked all of the woman in this series, I've always found them very iritating. But mostly Tasha I can't stand the woman, she was always overly dramatic and way too much. I can't believe that Data would choose this woman to have sexual relations with. Even as a android you could have done much better.

Please bare with me here because this may seem like it has no point but I assure you it will.
I think if they were thinking of killing off a main character that they should of killed the entire crew.
If that had happened they could of then moved on in a more reasonable way to the next movie and also the next series.
If they wanted to make another series about exploring the 24th century I think it would of been easier to handle if the new series was with an entirely new crew on the Enterprise utilising new and old characters that we had already seen in the franchise, people like Worf, Lefler, Shelby, Barclay, O'Brien and Bashir and some others, like Aquiel and Harry Kim.
What the new series should of been was a carry on from where we had finished Nemesis, but alas that wil not be.
