Will there ever be a trek series that doesn't have a female character (main character) with a tight fitting uniform. Even in the last season, when she was officially a member of starfleet, she didn't wear a starfleet uniform. They just slapped a patch on the side of her outfits. Don't get me wrong she's nice to look at, but it doesn't make sense. Especially since she's a vulcan.

I hope there will never be star trek without a woman in a close fitting uniform. Eye candy is always good. You can sell anything with that, I've seen even paint for houses being advertised with nice-looking women. They are essential for the welfare of the galaxy! It's true!

Sure most guys, including myself, like that. However, Star Trek is good enough without that. It doesn't need women in tight-fitting clothes to sell. You don't see Samantha Carter in a spandex suit. She's wearing a uniform because she's in the air force. T'Pol should have worn a starfleet uniform when she joined starfleet.

nope. She works for the Vulcan High Command. She was assigned too Enterprise after first contact was made with the Klingons. She did get a starfleet rank, but sill served the Vulcan High Command.

i think Spock was the first Vulcan to enter starfleet.

They're called "space babes" and they've become something of a Trek tradition by now.

I just finished the series and T'Pol is given a starfleet commision and the rank of Commander. She still wears the same tight fitting outfits with an Enterprise patch on the shoulder and a rank insignia on the collar. It happens in the beginning of the 4th season.

I will never understand why this series receives a harder time then most in terms of what the women wear (or don't wear) other then the fact that it is just yet another reason to hate this show. T'Pol obtained an official commission from Starfleet for season four, wearing the rank pips of Commander, a mission patch for Enterprise NX-01 and color piping to note her division/department. As for why she continued to do so, maybe she felt that as she hadn't been formerly trained to be a Starfleet officer, wearing the uniform wasn't something she deserved? It's plausible, given the comments made by Commander Tucker in the pilot episode of "apples and oranges" in terms of ranks and services along with backgrounds and such.

Point of interest, this has happened with characters in every series, not just Star Trek: Enterprise (In terms of women and what type they wear or not). Also, if anyone cares at all, I have read on Memory Beta and I think even Memory Alpha, that T'Pol has elected to wear a Starfleet Uniform from hereon out.
