Nana passed away last night at 2145. The wake is Tuesday, the funeral Wednesday. I just want it to be all over.

You've had such a rough year. Wish I could give you a big ({) for realz. You'll be glad to know your care package has made it into a box, but doesn't quite fit. So I need to make some executive decisions before I send it off (i.e. remove a packet of jaffa cakes or buy a bigger box). Dw'in caru ti!

(})

This is her online obituary. Some of the stuff I didn't know until a few days ago, like that she had danced with Fred Astaire. That's pretty cool, no?

Hey, Theresa. Sorry to hear about your grandma. Will pray for you all. Also, if it would be ok with you, I'll have a Mass said for her at my Church.

Hope I see you on WLM soon .

Oh, Kevin, you'd find this interesting. Nana spoke to Pope JPII on the phone once, in the 80's.
Quote:
She even called the Vatican in Rome to discuss this decision with the Pope.
(regarding a local HS no longer being catholic)

And it would definitely be ok.

Dw'in caru ti, hefyd, Tommy! (is the 'hefyd' right? that was from memory, so only God knows, )

Yn wir, it certainly is correct! I posted it today so it should be with you in about a week. Who knew that if you told them there was a card/letter inside the box, they charge you as if the whole thing is a letter? Be careful with that, because it costs you a heck of a lot more, But we'll just gloss over that, Dwi ddim yn hoffi coffi, a ti?

So I spoke to my mother about this, instead of an ego-centric uncle, the furthest she got was a cardinal. They're the ones in red, right?

So excited, Tommy! Thank Brendan for me, And no, I don't like coffee. Yuck.

I have a couple more pics with very young me in them. (and some with J) We don't have many of those given the fact our house burned down.

My fifth birthday, at my Grandparents.

Easter with the same Grandparents. I'm in the blue, J in the... pinK?

Grandparents, an aunt who was home on leave from the Navy, parents, and J and I in the front.

Quote:
Nana's Love

When the sun shines bright,
on those warm sunny days
I'll think of you,
and your loving ways.

When I look at our family,
into their eyes,
I see you smiling back at me,
caring, sweet, and so gently wise.

You gave us your love,
never holding back.
Teaching by example,
Putting us on the right track.

I know I will miss you,
because you're not here to hold
But you live on in our lives,
and the stories they've told.

Although we want you to stay,
and watch us all grow.
God has called you.
We know you must go.

Right now it seems impossible,
to see past our tears.
Because we're shadowed by loss,
and faced with our fears.

But soon the sun,
is again going to rise.
We only need to remember,
that your's is a love that never dies.

"Bless you all night"

Jaime wrote that. Personally, I think it's amazing. She'd just finished it when she got the call that Nana was gone. The "Bless you all night" is something that Nana would say to us EVERY time we spoke, on the phone or in person. (Instead of bye)

Really nice! I don't think I'd have been able to read that without breaking down.

Thanks. There's a "party" at Nana & Grampy's this Saturday. Grampy is giving it. It'll be the first time back there since the night she died.
