Did you know that the actor who played the Traveler almost got the role of Data instead of Brent Spiner?

I liked the traveller a lot, especially in "Where No One Has Gone Before". I always wished the Enterprise would go to Tau Alpha-C and see his home planet.

i think the reason the traveler wasn't in too many episodes was because he was too powerful, just like Q

thats all Q does, it's like his job.. he gets up, snaps his fingers and transports himself to the nearest ship, and screws around with the crew and ship

I thought the DS9 ep with Q was good. And then in the Q Continuum books, there is a fuuny line (not exact):
Q: "Deep Space Nine...I went there once. Boring place. I didn't see the need to return."
Picard: "Really? The way I heard it, Sisko hit you and you never came back. Maybe I should have just decked you years ago."

I CANT BELIEVE YOU KNOW NOT OF THE TRAVELER!!! He was a being from Tau Alpha C he could change and suspend time, things like that. He took a special interest in Wesley, he is the only reason Picard stopped calling him "boy" and gave him some responsibility.

i liked the Traveler best in "Time's Journey" when he acted like one of the American Indians, had Wesley stay behind the Cardassian border...Now he has to listen to Gul Evek's crap all the time...hee hee...

Really? He and Wesley beat a hasty retreat when
things turned ugly and left that tribe to find their
own way. So, I do not think that either the Traveler
or Wesley had to put up with any more Cardassians.

Ans anyway, where did they go? Maybe Tau Alpha C? Hey! they could make a movie about the Enterprise-E meeting Wesley somewhere then going to tau Alpha C, they could even use the Defiant, but it wouldnt be as good as the Enterprise...

As far as I know the Enterprise E does meet up with Wesley at the start of Nemesis at a very social gathering (I'll not say what in case there are people out there that still don't know how the film opens!) We might find out what Wes has been up to but there is no way they will go to Tau Alpha C.

I haven't heard much about the movie, but I know it involves the Remans, sister species to the Romulans, therefore there is no way they could base it on Wesley, maybe they bring him back though.

I think they used the Traveler in the story as a springboard for the Wesley character.
In "Where No Man Has Gone Before" we are introduced to the Traveler and this episode also planted the seed of the idea of Wesley being an 'elevolutinary next step' for the human race.
In "Time's Journey" the Traveler, in a native american guise, guides Wesley into this 'new horizon' for humanity, i.e. controling time & space with the mind.
The Traveler kind of 'bookends' the story arc of Wesley Crusher. It would be great if someone were to bring these two characters back, perhaps in a book, their story has alot of potential.
