PostMon Jan 19, 2009 12:07 am    Super Bowl XLIII (43) in Tampa, FL

Well...this topic seems to have become a trademark STV tradition over the last few years (lol), so I figured what the heck...let's keep this tradition going and lets get started shall we? With the stage finally set, Pittsburgh Steelers (AFC Champions) vs. Arizona Cardinals (NFC Champions), we will be doing what we do best here at STV...using this topic to discuss our opinions of the game and our opinions of it's outcome, etc.

Personally, with the way that Arizona has been playing since the preseason and all throughout the post season thus far...and because I am a hardcore NFC fan (Dallas Cowboys baby, w00t-w00t, lol)...I am picking the Arizona Cardinals to win it all and bring the franchise it's first championship in 61 years, and Kurt Warner's second ever! I also think that with the way Pittsburgh has been that this will be a good and close game, but like I said, I'm an NFC kinda guy all the way...so Arizona Cardinals are indeed my pick.

((BTW, I thought this year we'd actually do things a little differently and actually throw a poll in the topic too, lets just see what everyone thinks, etc...and above all else...lets have fun, and follow the rules, lol!))

I could honestly care less. After the Giants got knocked out, I stopped caring about the super bowl . I will probably cheer for the Steelers just because I don't like the Cardinals.

McGahee...they've been making dirty hits like that all year. The game was over. But I can't deny that they have an amazing defense. Pittsburgh will win but I'll be rooting for Arizona.

I'm hoping Arizona kicks ass.

I am going to be going for the cardinals. I like it when the underdog wins it

Great game, and exciting fourth quarter! I was kind of hoping the Cardinals would pull it off just so the Steelers wouldn't have more Super Bowl wins that Dallas, but oh well.

It was a good game for the most part, but if they're going to keep making those damn ridiculous calls, I may have to become a baseball and hockey fan. I mean damn, let them play the game already.

I don't think we need that kind of blaspheming in this thread .

You'll have to forgive me, I've jumped the Bruins bandwagon,

It just seems the rules are a bit too much. Like the call when the AZ guy ran into the holder, give me a damn breeeeeeeeeak. Just because they showed a commercial that indicated NFL players were superheroes in disguise doesn't mean they actually are and can fly in a different direction when already airborne.

Let's just all watch The Sound of Music, we'll feel so much better.

I wanted the Cardinals to win, but I would have been completely happy for the Steelers if James Harrison had an ounce of sportsmanship within him.

I don't know but he deserves one. These guys are so blessed to have the talent that they have. I wish they'd show a little more class.

Ah. So why aren't the russians competing? They are usually of the best Chess masters in the world!

Oh please. I don't watch hockey but I know what the Stanley Cup is, I don't watch soccer but I know what the World Cup is, if you don't know what the Super Bowl is, I suggest reading some form of news media.
