i've just been reading a interview from way back, with kate mulgrew, i never knew she considered leaving at the end of series 6...whats everyone's opinion on how VOY would have been without her ?

It wouldn't have been the same , It's like having the same mum nearly all your life then she changes i don't mean like step mum i mean like biological mum, shapeshifter type thing.

I totally Agree Voyager would have been nothing without Janeway.

Yes I agree. It would have been weird if she had left the show. Especially since they had thought about continuing the show afterwards...Chakotay as Captain? She was the glue of the show. That's why she decided to stay. Although I wouldn't blame her because she wanted to leave because of wanting to spend more time with her family which is ya know...admirable.

If she had left, they could as well have cancelled the whole series.

I wonder why she wanted to leave?

She wanted to leave because she had "just gotten married..." I think... I KNOW it was because she wanted to spend more time with her kids, but I THINK she had also just gotten married a short time before...I'm not 100% on the marriage, but I KNOW it was because of her kids...

It would have sucked...as someone said, she WAS the GLUE that held them together...LOL...

No Janway no show....but wouldn't it have been funny to see them try to make a smooth transition if she just up and left one day? I mean what where they gonna do??

Maybe put another bossy red head in there and hope nobody noticed...

LOL...They OBVIOUSLY would have killed her off doing something heroic like saving the ship and crew...

-OR-

Had her dying for Chakotay! That would have been awesome...she gave her life for Chakotay's...How touching...

But her NOT dying was just fine with me...

They could have had the Maquis rise up against her and kill her due to all the terrible things she did. Thats a good way. Captain Chakotay all the way.

True true. I think the backlash of losing Janeway would have been big. Moreso than the losing Kes.

There are no Canadian cast members in Star Trek Voyager. The rest of the series had numerous Canadians ie (Spock and Kirk, that's why they're weird because they're from Canada, YES people in Canada talk like that).

Conspiracy?

I think it would have been huge, but not insurmountable.

She would've taken Q up on his offer at becoming his wife? Then left, lol. Idk.... Wasn't "Workforce" in season 6? She could've stayed on the planet with that guy.

PostSat Sep 20, 2008 12:05 am    No captain Janeway, not okay

I think that voyager would have been totally different. A female captain was empowering and totally awesome. Had she left, I know quite a few people would've been upset.
