Depends on what age of either universes.

But most Star Wars ships would probably get annihlated by Next Generation Star Trek ships.

I agree, without shields a ship wouldn't stand a chance against enterprise or some other trek vessel

Both universes have there strong points star trek doesn't really go in to deatail on there fighters as star wars does

so federation Fighter vs star wars Fighter i would have to say star wars
star ship wise star wars ship systems are hanging off the side eg bridge is in the open sensor array etc were as unless u have schematics you really can't tell (or u have watched the show that out of the question for star wars lol i don't recall seeing any tvs ) you can't find it on star trek
though star wars ships are bigger that is becuase they carrier fighters
star wars does have shield >.> they have deflector shields.
Not as good as star trek shields though
so we have them out shielded our hull plating i would say is better to considering they use the same material as darth vaders armor i will get back to the weapons later here is were star wars completey would destroy star trek ground forces........now considering star wars was made basicly just about fighting and star trek wanted was trying to project a good nice future were we all get along etc there was no need to build great armys or
design tanks and stuff like that so on the ground hands down star wars (unless Q came lol then GG star trek wins again)
now for the weapons you can't realy compare weapons but like i said before i think space battles weapons goes to star trek starwars weapons takes the ground sorry if this is all messed up i have been to sleep all night and its hard to concentrate lol -.-

star wars ships do have sheilds there just called deflector sheilds
there even mentioned in the opening scene

These topics are discussed to death on many boards, but anyways...

It would depend on what classes of Starships that are seeing combat against the other, and who is controlling it. For instance, against a bunch of X-Wings, a Defiant class would clearly out gun and win, but vs Imperial Star Destroyers, the Captain would be smart to order a retreat. Just...an example of how I'd see it.

plus say an Imperial Star Destryer met a Galaxy class
an Imperial Star destroyer has turbo laser minor lasers a few squadren of star fighters sheilds and the worst part-----32 thousand crewers
now a galaxy class has very very very strong sheilds aphaser aray (i have no idea how long a Star Destroyers sheilds will hold against them) and photon torpedoes. but it only has about 1000 people aboard so a barding party on the galaxyclasses part is not a good idea
