PostSat Apr 19, 2008 1:17 am    Star Trek Chronoshift Revision 3

After looking back on the several "Chronoshift" stories/rpgs that I had used, I figured out the reason I couldn't follow the storylines.
1) A very undetailed accounting of Einstein's past
2) Characters were familiar, but were not as properly established in other storylines((Laurent Van den Hause, and Morrow, specifically.))

Revision includes new, never-before used cast, And a slightly more detailed look into Einstein's past before going into an Actual storyline, NOT involving the man.
As with my other Trek story((Adbucted)), I'm going to use A, B, C to differentiate individuals onboard.

Prologue E Earth, Black Forest,October 24, 1944**I didn't necessarily state that they were going to come in numerical/alphabetical order **

Albert Einstein stared at the Chronosphere device.
"Alright, Mikal. Turn it on. Let's make history." Einstein instructed his aide.
And he altered the future in ways he did not immediately understand. But he would. In time.

Antartica, date estimated at 2005, non current time-stream.

Einstein smiled, as he watched the battle control devices show the unknown commander's final victory over Yuri. The shear cussedness of the man surprised Einstein to no end. He was entrusted with Soviet and Allied technologies. He abused para-troopers, a Chrono-sphere, an Iron-Curtain, a Nuclear Silo, a Weather control device, more defencive towers then you can shake a stick at, and a significant amount of prismatic technology to best the vile man.
Einstein was impressed. However, he knew, that somewhere down the line, humanity would pay for the Chrono-sphere, and the hell it had unleashed. Yuri's Genetic manipulator, the Soviet Nuclear Silos, the Allied Weather control devices, not to mention the multitude of weapons the Allies were rebuilding. The orbital Particle Cannon, or the ICBM missiles, for example.
He stared around the chrono-lab, and sighed.
He could almost feel the presence. It was everywhere, and it was nowhere.
"Who are you?" Einstein asked.
But there was no reply.

20 years later E/A
Three world wars later, naturally between the Soviets, who had managed to take Mig, Tesla, Nuclear, Iron-Curtain, and flak technologies to unheardof levels, and the Allies, who had taken control of the weather, the Chronospheres, Prismatic networks spanning entire continents, ICBM Missiles, and an array of Orbital Particle Cannons.
But there was a third faction here. Mother Nature.
Deranged by Yuri's Genetic Manipulator, strange weather patterns, and nuclear radiation, Mother Nature had taken back her planet. The Ionnic-biased weather storms made missiles of any form pointless, Demagnetized both Iron Curtains, and Orbital Particle Cannons, and the Prismatic Networks worked just fine. Except that they couldn't be controlled. Instead, they simply randomly discharged, bieng over-charged by the storms of the earth.
Einstein sat in one of few remaining Chronospheres; The Einsteinian Laboratory of Chronosphereogical Sciences and Academy of Temporal Physics.
He had just one student left. The campus consisted of the Chronosphere, several Ionnic-Energy Towers, which essentially absorbed energy from the storms, to convert into power for the campus, a lecturing academy, a small dorm, and Einstein's personal home.
To think it had come so far. It still had the ORIGINAL Chronosphere. And yet, it was no longer a tool of war, or a scientific breakthrough. Chronosphereogical Sciences were well known now.
Across the globe, there were a very select few humans left. There was a small Soviet doomsday sect, who had coveted the Kremlin, complete with thier' own personal Mig Air Strip, not that most aircraft could actually take flight. There was the remains of the United States of America; Namely Alaska, Hawaii, and the old Capital city. These were now seperated from eachother by tracts of iradiated, ionized, genetically mutated, storm-infest swamps, complete with man-eating trees, misquitos the size of Kirov bombers, and Einstein's personal favorite, a unique twist on nature, the poisonous domestic house-cat, which now grew to the size of a house, living up to it's name.
Washington, D.C. had one of few small groupings of 'americans'. They had thier' little houses, with thier' farms, and they had a small air-strip, should the Soviets ever attack. Hawaii had very little left. It's inhabitants constantly struggled against tidal waves, vulcanic eruptions, and mutant pineapples, that liked to squish things.
And Alaska was a balmy 43 degrees Celsius, complete with a bunch of humanoids, who were once human, now mostly either half-snake, half-fish, or half-bird. They lived in thier' happy place, knowing no one would attack them. Einstein found it ironic that Mother Nature had made his home one of the few habitable places left.
The Black Forest had trees that talked now. They liked talking to him. And he liked talking to them. But they knew that he was finally comming to his decision. So they tried to keep him from talking of anything of value.
As Einstein walked into the Lecture hall, he smiled at his star, and only surviving pupil.
"Ms. Romanov, I have a strange question to ask you. And I ask you, because the last time I made this decision, it started all this mess." Einstein said, his accent barely noticeable, after years of speaking English.
Alexandra Romanov, only 20 years old nodded.
"I vill answer to the best of my abillity." She said, her clipped Russian accent bieng clear. She had only spoken English since Einstein had taught it to her, barely 2 years ago.
"As you may, or may not know, nearly 80 years ago, in 1944, I went back in time, and forever altered the timeline. I have reason to believe that I must right that wrong." Einstein said softly. His heart beating heavily.
"How vould you go about doing this, Professor?" She asked.
"Go back in time, destroy the original chronosphere." Einstein said softly.
"Vhat!" Alexandra exclaimed.
Einstein nodded.
"It is the only way." He said, collapsing to the ground.
And at nearly a Hundred and 10 years old, Albert Einstein died.
Alexandra stared at the proto-type Chronosphere. It had sat in that same place, for so long, she was amazed. Her Father had tried to capture it, destroy it, and covet it so many times in his mad campaigns. And now she was the only person who knew how to use it.
She knew she could turn it back only a few years, and turn the tides on the war. She had much of Einstein's technology.
She stared at the man she had come to trust. The only man she had known over the past 2 years, since the Ionnic Storms seperated the remaining few Human colonies.
"For you, Comrade Einstein." She said softly.
She didn't mean Comrade as in Soviet-Soldier. She meant Comrade as in Temporal Traveller.
She stared at the input date.
She put in the exact time, date, month, and year.

10:57 PM, October 23, 1944
Alexandra appeared in the deserted chronolab.
She smiled as she looked around it. It still looked more or less the same. Less dusty. No bullet-marks.
She noted that the professor had left only half an hour ago, and had left the tea kettle going. So like the scientist.
She poured herself a cup of earl grey, and sat down at the controls.
"Okay... Spacial co-ordinates set to Random. Temporal Co-ordinates... let's pick something completely arbitrary... say... Twenty Four Zero Zero for the year." She said softly.
She charged up the device, and disappeared into the night.
Earth would never know how close it came to destroying itself.

USS Stealth, October 24, 2400 B
Captain Thomas Hamilton sighed as he took Starfleet's "Bird of Prey" adaption on it's first mission; a boring planetary survey.
The "Black Hawk" class starship was essentially a Klingon Bird of Prey, with an adapted cloaking device, and phasers.
With significant parts of the fleet getting ready to counter an attack from the Tr'Nath, a lizard-like specie who's homespace was somewhere along the Alpha/Gamma Quadrant boundaries, sandwhiched between the Dominion, and the Alpha Quadrant. Naturally, they allied themselves with the Dominion, when the Dominion contemplated YET ANOTHER attack on the Alpha Quadrant. This time, including the Cardassians.
Which meant that Starfleet's idea of a shakedown mission was someone's mail run that was supposed to be done months ago, by a science vessel, but it kinda got destroyed.
"Sir... I'm reading a strange reading. It's almost tachyon based. Not quite. The sensors marked it as likely to be temporal." Ensign Trisha Nordstraum said from the Science Terminal.
In a small ship like this, there was only a crew of twelve. And seven of them were Vulcans. But not one of them was his Science Officer.
There was himself, Trisha, Lt. Johnathon Putin, at Ops, the EMH, and that Andorian in the messhall, who's name, no one knew, because she only responded to 'chef'. And then there was Suvaj, Suran, T'nira, T'anja, T'vana, and that half human man, who's human father had a good sense of humor, Spork. All of them were in engineering.
A bridge crew of three. Captain Hamilton doubled as the Helm officer.
Lt. Putin stared at the Ops console in confusion.
"I'm tempted to agree. And Captain... a lifesign. One. Human. Female." He said, mildly excited.
"Johnny, keep it in your' pants. I'm surprised that Trisha puts up with such behavior from you." Captain Hamilton said softly.
Silently, he envied just about everyone on the ship, except the EMH, and the Andorian. Suvaj, and T'nira. Suran, and T'anja. Spork, and T'vana. Putin, and Nordstraum. All happily married couples.
'chef', a grumpy female Andorian who only came along because Thomas had saved her life.
The EMH, who only came along because he was uploaded to the Stealth's databanks.
And the grump lonely Captain, at the young age of just 24. The youngest of everyone aboard, excluding the EMH.
"Computer, assume autopilot mode, standard Orbit. Bridge to T'vana. Meet me in the Transporter room. Bring a first aid kit, a tri-corder, and a couple of phasers. And based on the temperature down there, three blankets, and perhaps some spare WARM clothes for three." Captain Hamilton instructed.
"Aye sir." T'vana's soft Vulcan voice came through the comms.
"Captain, I'd tell you all those nasty regs about Captains going on away missions, but then I realize you wouldn't leave me and Trisha alone on the bridge." Johnathon said softly, in a joking manner.
Captain Hamilton laughed.
"After the way you reacted to those sensor readings, I doubt it will live up to your' expectations, Lt. Putin." Captain Hamilton said with a laugh, as he stepped into the turbolift, and instructed it to rocket down to the Transporter room.

Not tonight, and probably not until the day after tomorrow, when I have some off-time I don't need to use for sleeping. We shall see how many tribbles I can pull out of my hat

Planetside A
Alexandra Romanov smiled as she tried to stand up.
Except she nearly passed out.
"o0o... that thing made me sick to my stomach." She said softly.
She carefully managed to stand up.
She looked out at the stars, and stopped.
The thin atmosphere of whatever this planet was, allowed her to see the sky much more clearly.
There was something in the sky that was not a star, and did not at all resemble a sattelite. Not even one of the Allies' Particle Cannon Sattelites.
And then she saw a glimmer on the planet's surface.

B
Captain Thomas Hamilton breathed in deeply. Not that he had a choice in the manner.
The thin atmosphere mad oxygen rather sparse, so it was either breathe deeply, or simply stop breathing.
And while he was only half human, neither human, nor spracadian biology had quite got past holding thier' breath more than a minute or so, so he decided breathing deeply was a good idea.
However, Spracadian eyesite was significantly lower quality than that of humans, while thier' sense of electromagnetics, and smell was significantly hightened.
"Alright, is that building nearly as amazing as it feels and smells?" Captain Hamilton asked.
T'vana raised her eyebrows at the tri-corder readings.
"It is.... impressive. The entire laboratory is self-powered, and is entirely... temporally messed up." T'vana said, unsure of how else to word it.
Captain Hamilton nodded.
"It's electromagnetics are off too." He said.
They walked around the building, and finally came to a small sign, next to the door.
Captain Hamilton inhaled sharply at the words.
"That can't be... what I think that is..." He said softly.
"Captain, this doesn't make sense. There's something on the tri-corder, flagging as Temporal Directive section 237, subsection A-31." T'vana said.
"You know the TD regs?" Thomas asked.
She looked down, and frowned.
"No sir." She said quietly, slightly ashamed.
He nodded.
"Section 237 refers to secondary, or splinter-time frames. A-31 refers to one of few that are known. I won't go into the details, but I'm required by fleet regs to ask you to put down your' med-kit, and tri-corder, and beam back to the starship. If it is, who the regulations say it is, you can't see them." Captain Thomas said, in a slow, measured tone.
She nodded.
She handed him her med-kit and tri-corder, and tapped her comm-badge.
"T'vana to Stealth. Temporal Directive, Section 237-A-31. One to beam up." She instructed.
"Aye, Commander T'vana, All systems are locked down, according to regs, and all systems are now set to Yellow Alert. Radio Silence, except with Starfleet HQ have been initiated." came the voice from Lt. Putin.
T'vana raised an eyebrow, and looked at Captain Thomas.
He nodded.
T'vana dissolved into dust.
Captain Thomas turned back to the door.
Carefully, he knocked on the door.
And when he opened the door, he inhaled deeply.
Definetely not who the regulations said it would be. But I think I can live with it.

A
Alexandra Romanov stared at the man, who had come to her door.
Military. Definetely.
She looked up at the stars, specifically at the ship.
"You fly in the stars?" She asked.
The man frowned.
"You could say that." He said, barely able to speak.
She knew the atmosphere was thin.
Somehow, she doubted that was the reasoning behind it.

USS Stealth A/B Briefing Room
The five Vulcans, two humans, holographic emulation OF a human, and HALF human, Half Spracadian smiled across the briefing room table.
The five vulcans were mystified by the russian woman's INCREDIBLE knowledge database regarding particle weaponry, heat-biased weapons, weather control systems, and time/space manipulation.
The holograhic entity was simply fascinated by the medical data comming out of her; enough toxins to be nearly-fatal, and enough genetic alteration to be nearly as alien as the Captain, and a slight case of lung cancer, likely brought on by the cigarette she was smoking.
One of the two humans was amazed by her figure, while the other was constantly hitting the first for staring at the woman's posterior.
And the Captain was just amazed by her, in general.
"And so, vhen you position two of these towers vithin aproximately 1 kilometre, the power, and destructive abillities are powered up by a factor of Tower X over the amount of nearby towers bieng Y." She finished.
The Vulcan's raised thier' eyebrows.
"Fascinating." T'vana said softly.
A chorus of "Indeed"'s came from the other four Vulcans.
Putin nodded, recognizing a powerful weapon when he saw one.
"If you were to plug a Starship's Warp Core..." Putin started.
"Give me a power-output level." She asked.
T'vana nodded.
"Our' warp core can put out, what, on your' charts would show up roughly at 1500-1800 terrawatts." T'vana said softly.
"1697 Terrawatts on average." Savaj said.
It was quite clear that the other four vulcans dissaproved of T'vana. And it was likely because she was more 'humanized' then even the half human of the five vulcans.
Savaj handed the Russian woman a PADD with the ship's normal power requirements Vs. power usage.
She smiled.
"You could probably do quite alot of damage... but you'd half to have these towers on every part of the ship." She said softly.
Savaj raised his eyebrow.
"Indeed. However, we'd be able to fire from any direction..." He said softly.
"That sounds like a Captain's dream." Captain Hamilton said softly.
"Me, or the Prism towers?" Alexandra Romanov asked.
"In this case? Both." T'vana said, laughing.
"Indeed." Trisha said in a moch tone of T'vana's vulcan brogue.

USS Stealth A/B Observatory
Captain Hamilton watched the Russian woman staring at the stars in warp, amazed.
"Bridge to the Captain" Putin's voice came through the intercomm.
"Yeah, Putin. What is it?" Thomas asked.
"We got a communication in from Earth." Putin replied.
"Dominion?" Thomas asked.
"Well... Captain... I've got bad news..." Putin asked.
"Don't tell me the twin brother managed to get him get killed off." Thomas said, thinking of his twin brother, or rather, his clone. As it were.
"No sir, The Griffon reports that it's safe." Putin said softly.
Thomas Hamilton shook his head, remembering the insane Spracadian custom of cloning one's self. He knew of atleast 1 clone, who had also become a Captain of Starfleet, oddly enough.
Although the Senior Captain Hamilton was the Captain of a prototype warbird, and the younger was the Captain of a Medical ship, he didn't care. As long as he was both safe. What a strange thought construct that was.
"Well... out with it Putin." Thomas said softly.
Putin's voiced cleared.
"Uh... Captain... uhm... well... it's requiring your' clearance codes." Putin said softly.
"Indeed. I'll be right there." Thomas said softly.
He looked at the Russian woman.
She shook her head.
"Alright, I'm afraid I have to leave you here." He said to her.
Alexandra sighed.
"You have much on your' shoulders." She said, in her Russian accent.
He nodded.
"Could I... come with you?" She asked.
He looked down. Regulations said something about not allowing it. He disregarded that one frequently.
"Sure." He said, and led her onto the bridge, so the sensors would open the doors for her.
"Computer, Thomas 8 57 12 Omega 4. Play Classified Message immediately." He instructed.
Unlike his spracadian clone, which was taught Spracadian language, and it's sister-tongue, Binary Code, from birth, Captain Thomas spoke English. And only English. Otherwise he could have queued the message directly from the computer, without having to verbalize the code.
"Playing..." The computer voice started.
The president of the Federation, a man who Thomas didn't actually know, due to his strange upbringing.
"Attention any Federation Starfleet Starships. We have failed to defend earth. Do not attempt to re-infiltrate Earth's Solar system. A Borg cube has beaten down the last of our' defences... Hey! What the Hell.... What is going on... ACK!!!............*static*........... We are the Borg. Resistance is Futile." The transmission ended there. Simply.
"What the hell!" Captain Thomas Hamilton the Original exclaimed.
Alexandra Romanov dropped to her knees.
"So... Earth has fallen after all. Despite... my best efforts." She said, softly. Sobbing.
Captain Thomas Hamilton could say nothing. There was nothing else to say.

USS Stealth A/B
Alexandra stared at Captain Hamilton.
"What... what are you going to do?" She asked him.
He stared into her dark hazel eyes, and for the first time, could not muster an answer.
The bridge was silent, as Captain Hamilton stuttered.
"We... p...pr...prey." He whispered out.
Alexandra stared at him. And could not find any reason to argue with him.

Earth A/E 2024
Einstein stared at the woman.
"So... you want.. me... to teach the daughter of the sworn enemy of the allies... about my chronosphere." He said softly.
"I am not like my father, Professor. I only want to help the world. Not rule it." She said, in a clipped Russian Accent.
Einstein raised an eyebrow.
"Very Interestink..." He said, as he walked around the woman.
He looked carefully at her, staring carefully into her eyes.
"Heed these words well, young lady. I will teach you, but you must promise to save ze world atleast once." Einstein said, staring her right in the eye.
She knew he meant it.

USS Stealth A/B
Alexandra looked into Captain Hamilton's eyes.
She saw that same look in his eyes that Einstein had, staring into her eyes, that September day.
She gave him the same look.
"Give me ten minutes with your' best scientific mind onboard." She whispered.
"Bridge to T'vana. Please report to the briefing room." Thomas instructed.
Alexandra nodded, and followed him into the Turbo-lift.

CUBE 3235252 C
15 of 2 stood erect, awaiting instructions from the hive mind.
Suddenly he found himself disconnected from the hive mind.
As was the rest of the cube.
15 of 2 stared carefully around him.
And suddenly everyone began remembering names. Lives.
And they stared at each-other in mild shock.
And 15 of 2 remembered a name.
Thomas Hamilton III.
He glowered at the implant on his arm.
A whisper of the collective spoke in his mind.
"Assimilate them all."
He glowered at an imaginary voice.
"I will not comply." He said, angrily.
The rest of the drones turned to him, and nodded.

USS Stealth A/B
Thomas stared out the viewscreen.
Alexandra had been in the briefing room with T'vana for a few hours now.
And Thomas had sat, helplessly, staring at the viewscreen for the entire time.
"We've got a transwarp tear opening up!" Lt. Putin exclaimed.
"Bloody hell. Red Alert!! All hands to battle stations!" Thomas yelled.
The entire bridge was bathed in red.
"ONE CUBE!" Lt. Putin exclaimed.
"Wait! " Ensign Nordstraum said.
"What?" Captain Hamilton asked.
"There's a SECOND transwarp tear opening!" Trisha exclaimed.
A second cube came out of the tear... firing all weapons at the first cube.
"We are the borg. Resistance is futile." A voice came over the comm-link from the first cube.
From the second cube, sending chills down Captain Hamilton's spine, as he recognized the voice.
"Like bloody hell." The second cube's transmission.
The voice was easily recognizable.
Because it was his own.

USS Stealth A/B/C

Thomas stared at the assimilated version of himself, and shuddered.
Alexandra looked rather disturbed.
"What the hell is going on here... who are you?" Thomas demanded.
"I am Thomas Hamilton III, or 15 of 2." The clone noted.
Alexandra frowned.
"You are me." The clone added.
"Not quite. I'm Thomas Hamilton II." Thomas noted.
"You... are... not me. I am you." The clone intoned.
Thomas nodded.
"What the hell is going on here?" Putin asked.
"Indeed." T'vana added.
"Captain.. I've got an idea." Trisha Nordstraum said.
Thomas smiled.
"About damn time." Thomas said.
"What? That Trisha had an idea?" Putin asked.
Trisha knocked him unconcious with a good blow upside the head.
"No, Putin, that SOMEONE had an idea." Thomas said to the knocked-out body.
