sports section

I think it would be cool to have a sports section added to the site. I talk to a lot of people about hockey and football all the time. We could do more fantasy games in the sports section as well. Does anyone else think this is a good idea?

Yeah, because Chit Chat would totally be overflowing with all these sports topics,

It's a nice idea, but a little unnecessary, I think,

Especially given the site's current level of traffic.

I'd be for it. I know a lot of us leave off talking about sports because there isn't quite an area for it. Topics titled, Baseball/Hockey/Football, etc... aren't really sufficient, IMO.

Morphy has always been reluctant to add more non-Trek forums... that, coupled with the lack of activity of the site, makes it seem unlikely that a sports section will be added anytime soon,

If you guys want, we could add sports to the "fun and games" forum or if you think it would be best to create a new forum, that's ok too. BTW, I'm a big time sports nut.

If the latter, do you guys just want to call it "Sports" or do you have a catchy forum name in mind?

You guys have my email, so let me know what you decide. I check my email throughout the day... and of course I'm on IM too.

I too am quite big into...certain sports, lol, and I would be fine with just a forum called "Sports," but that's probably because I am no good with catchy titles

Maybe a name like "The Arena" or "The Stadium" something to that effect. And if we get any spammers, we can make sure they can only post in there and go Gladiator on them.

I'm not really a sports fan, but a section for the sports fan might be cool, it could perhaps allow for some extra activity, allowing the fans a place to discuss to their hearts content.
