PostTue Feb 12, 2008 2:12 pm    Akira class Vs. Intrepid

Greetings all,

I'm a big, big fan of the Intrepid class (thanks to Voyager, obviously). However, in recent times the Akira class has grown on me.

Basically, I'd like some info if anyone can help. I'm trying to build a comparison between the two, and I need the following info on the Akira class:

Number of decks

Average crew complement

Maximum warp speed

Maximum sustainable warp speed (need this for the Intrepid class too - is it 9.975?)

Does the Akira have any rear phaser banks? It doesn't look like it from any pictures I've seen, does it only rely on rear torpedoes?

I'm also guessing that the Akira does not perform much of a scientific function, but is mostly geared towards combat?

Any other info would be useful too.

Oh, and one final thing, in your opinion, which of the classes do you prefer?

Google is your friend.

But anyway. You really can not compare these two ships. They were designed to fill two different roles.

I was really only comparing aesthetics. I needed the stats for something else . Thanks .

Ok cool. As far as astetics? Well I am going to have to say that the intrepid is a better looking tug, but if you are looking for teeth then look at the Akira class.

Actually, I never liked the Intrepid class. Nacelles are way to small, giving the ship a big to small look that always seemed unattractive to me.

The Akira is the hottest ship outside of the Enterprise E. Love it.

The intrepid class is the best out of all of the ships. The akira class looks retarted. Plus the intrepid just looks cool. It performs really well, and can blow up a borg cube when a galaxy class couldn't!

That's called a plot hole.
