Will Trek be popular in its Timeline?

Interesting thought- if by the 22nd century, when trek is contemporary- what people will think of it. And what predictions will come true?

Little to no predictions will come true. escpeially no first contact with the Vulcans or an Ex-Satellite with a mind of its own.

They will see it just as we see movies about 1999(class of 1999) and so on. They will like it.

This is an interesting premise.

I think Lion that some predictions will come true but you might be right with the 2 you pointed out.

We are already on the way to tricorders, laser wweaponry is moving into the directed energy weapon era and I think we could see a global entity (not a government but certainly a international body ) to allow groups to do things on a global scale (and not in the economic areas as well).

I think people will look on it fondly, I think some things will be prophetic (it is just a matter of time before cloning and genetics is introduced causing some form of the Eugenics Wars), I think there will be 3rd World War (as Beverly Crusher once said if you get to our tevchnological advancement all it takes is a fool to start something), and I feel that it will take contact with another species to lull our species out of it's complacency and idiotic ideal that we are the center of the universe and that we are the gaurdians of all life.
