uh...

Please, both of you smoke some dope and call it a day!

SHIET!

Oh and before I go really off topic, I just wanted to say when Kira and Ezri made out... made me fall in love with lesbians. Or at least that type of mutual attraction.

Truefully the thought of Garak being gay had never crossed my mind. Maybe the specualtion had to do with him being a talior...but that is stereotyping.

He was romantically involved with Ziyal. You know...a girl.

He "acts really gay"? What? How does someone do that?

Because he's proper and smart?

Especialy as in the parts where they were in the same room, Garak as admited taht Killing Dukat was pretty damned tempting.

Garak rocked DS9 - it wouldnt have been anywhere near as interesting as it was without him - certainly a hell of alot more interesting than the entire Bajoran scenario put together - some of my most favorite episodes revolve around him and his highly secretive past

No, I liked him as an actor, but his sarky tone and the script sounded a bit camp at times.

I think he just came off of as very proper, educated, and civilised. For some people that may seem "gay", but that is how he was.

Yeah, he was pretty educated. He always knew more of a situation, then he would ever let on. Pretty interesting

Dunno, for me it seemed more like a sorta playfullness than campness, like he was trying to put people around him at ease on top of being so well cultured (And he DID need to put people at ease because if he was going to go around showing his uh,predatory side all the time...as seen when he was back with Tain,& On the Episode Empok Nor (ok maybe that technically doesnt count but anyway) it`d make things even harder for him?)

And Andrew Robinson did state that he played the character as Bi (Which others have posted already ) Though i think he was more hetero.I mean,he had an interest in Ziyal, and he had some affection for Mila (Spelling ?) too, right ?

If he WAS technically Bi or Gay or w/e i dont see what the big deal is.Guys seem to have some issue with gayness (homophobia ?) way more than girls,i mean,im female and totally not bothered by it,i even make some pseudo -lesbian jokes with my friends sometimes.I vaguely remember that some Trek insider mentioned they WERE thinking of adding a gay cast member but decided against it.W/e one`s beliefs about it i guess humanity is still not ready to accept it.

Whatever the character or actors` sexual preference actually WAS,he still kicks ass

Yeah, but look at when he's talking to Dukat in WOTW "after all these years. fighting on the same side" or suttin like that. I loved the sarky jokes, and the educatatedness, but they could come off as a bit... limp-wristed

If that's the episode i think it was, he was also tempted to shoot Dukat in the back, when he was fighting the Klingons

I've watched DS9 over and over, and have never heard of this Cardassian past of "honor" and peace. The Cardassia we see, that has existed for a long, long time during DS9, has brutality engrained in it so deeply that they can't imagine any other way, and are smugly superior-minded about how perfectly they think their society has been, for so long, in its present form.

Like the Nazis and Soviets, I'm sure many people accomplished many great things under this Cardassian system... art, architecture, literature, science, etc.. And many decent Cardassians believed their system was honorable, but they probably didn't get out much.

Certainly the officiousness and meticulous bureaucracy is a nod to the Nazis.

Oh, and "listening" would only be considered just a female characteristic in a deeply twisted society... which admittedly might describe the one we're living in, but not the Federation. And why would that equal gay necessarily? Do gays listen to people more?

I heard rumors anout Robinson himself being gay, but he's not. That thick ironic slant to his voice could be interpreted that way, but wouldn't have been a few decades ago.

I never thought of this character as being gay at all until reading a website interview where A. Robinson is asked what he thinks about this. Am sure it has been mentioned already that Andrew plays him 'bi', as can be seen in 'A Stitch in Time' too.

Am not really bothered either way as long as the story and acting/writing is good!

I think he plays it in a very eccentric way.He does seem to put the idea in your head that he could be!Makes you wonder if he was bi?
I loved his character and have just brought the limited edition DS9 box set!I call it my treasure chest! Will set about watching them all from start to finish and check out his great character all over again!

Only in the United States would such a thing be relevant.

Who cares if he is gay or not, as far as I am concerned he was and still is the miost frscinating character in thefranchises histroy so I do not care.

I agree with lifeguard. It certainly wouldn't be seen as so shocking in the UK.

I must be honest and say I never did either. But now I think about it, he does seem pretty camp to me!
