Sun Nov 18, 2007 10:56 pm The holodeck.... where does it all fit? |
|
Yeah so I've been wandering. There might be a topic about this already, but i couldn't be bothered reading all the old threads... I'm a newbie >.<
but yeah. I've been wandering how they fit everything in the holodeck. I understand when one person is in there and the scenes just change to fit them. but when you've got 2 people in different locations of the one world, or in some cases atleast 20 people... in so many voyager episodes in the holodeck all at once in different parts of the programes. All those people would hardly fit into that room...

I don't know. Wouldn't you walk into the wall even if the environment was moving with you?

They aren't really moving. Its all an illusion. Somehow when the holodeck is on and they start walking they aren't actually walking, but the scenery does move so the illusion of them moving around covers the fact they aren't moving at all.

Think of a treadmill effect.
As for 2 people on the same holodeck all moving away from each other, I imagine the scenery can change between them.
As for 20 people on the same holodeck, well lets just put that down to story writers error.

yeah i realised they probably weren't moving around that much. Like a treadmill.... my only issue was how they have like whole villages in the holodeck... and everyone is somewhere else.... that's just impossible!
