unfortantley captain archer doesn't die form a aramda of klingion vessels or jumping from a plane witha superman suit on in the series "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II". you find out that captain archer becomes the first federation president and serves from 2184 through 2192.

We should never start imagining our icons' deaths. It diminishes their status as icons in our eyes to define their mortality. Was it helpful at all to see Kirk finally die? Not at all because now whenever we see or hear of Kirk we think of a life that ends, eventually. Our heroes are human and that means they die all on their own one day. They don't need us to hasten that.
