Obama camp responds to revelation: Every family has a black sheep

WASHINGTON - Though they may spar across the political aisle, Vice President Dick Cheney is close enough to Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama to call him cousin.
Eighth cousin, that is.
Lynne Cheney, the vice presidents wife, revealed this tantalizing bit of political trivia during a television interview Tuesday. |
Too bad it doesn't elaborate more.

Reminds me of the thing where Kerry and Bush are supposedly related... it's kind of a... *shrug* thing. There's some research that suggests most people are 10th cousins to each other, though I'm not sure how true that is.

But 'eighth cousins' isn't really close at all, 4th cousins can legally marry.
