Actually it was all of Season 2. Gates McFadden was pregnant during the latter part of Season 1. That's why the character has the blue jacket. She got it to hide her status because she was afraid they would can her completely, and as she got bigger, so did the jacket. The Jacket was COMPLETELY her idea. She thought it looked alright as a doctor's jacket in the 24th century and it worked. Then they found out she was pregnant, and said "Take the 2nd season off and return in the 3rd." And that's what she did. On top of that, they liked the idea of the Jacket well enough that they let her keep it for the course of the series. Pretty neat, huh?

I HATED Polaski.
HATED HATED HATED HER.
She was ugly.
She was fairly rude.

I would choose Crusher over Pulaski any day. Pulaski's whole character was just a female "Bones" McCoy. Crusher was a better doctor too. How many other doctors could return someone who had been assimilated to a state of pretty much being normal? Even voyagers emh never quite got all the implants out of seven like crusher did for picard.

Hey, I forgot about Pulaski being afraid of transporters...remided me so much of Dr. "Bones" McCoy from the original series.
But I still liked Beverly Crusher better, so I voted for her.
PS: I can't remember, but does anyone know why they had the two different doctors in the first place? I thought Crusher was the original....
