The whole midwest is like that - it's really quite terrifying o.O
Personally, I can't imagine living anywhere farther than walking distance from a major body of water.

Exactly. Even though I live about an hour inland, there are inlets that come so far up you can smell the ocean most of the time. I guess I didn't realize how accustomed to that I'd become. That, and there are two places within biking distance of my home that we can take the boat out on. In Ohio, where we were, all they had were fake ponds. And sadly, that's where I spent most of my time,

Thank you,
Everything lately seems to be about contrasts. Well, mostly.
(I apparently also have a thing for clouds, )
^On the way to work a few days ago
^A horse farm down the street (it was much prettier than this pic can convey)
^Sunrise from the parking lot at work (don't know if this is on the previous page, the crappy comp won't load it)

And some of us soar to the stars
And some of us sail through our troubles
And some have to live with our scars

^A view from my Dad's hospital room
^This is the "Cujo" tree, see the face in the bottom? (in reality, it's just an apple tree that came down in a storm)

Another sunrise from work.
And our fireplace. (at work) It really works, and is generally surrounded by leather sofas and chairs, but I moved them out of the way.
To put it in proportion, it's taller than me, and I'm 5"9'.

Thanks, Grant. I've actually sold a few photos, completely unsolicited, which I think is cool. It's a career I could have and stay in Maine, too.
So, we got snow. Yay. This is the start of the storm:
And this is the end:
That is my sisters van, and beyond that, my SUV. As you can tell from the snow on the vehicles, there was no wind, so those aren't drifts. I think we broke three shovels,
