I will be starting a Star Wars fan-fic. It's a post Episode 3, pre Episode 4, and, unfortuantely, I will have to wait to put the first chapter up. It's on a different computer. I'll get it up as soon as I can.

As promised, the Preface and Chapter 1

Preface

Obi-Wan Kenobi strolled down the streets of Mos Eisley. He silently watched Owen and Beru Lars walking with a young, two year old Luke Skywalker. The boy was obviously curious, trying to wander away from his aunt and uncle to smell the strange foods and touch the odd creatures. Beru firmly held his hand, not letting him wander. Obi-Wan smirked. I wonder, if Anakin had had a father, if his childhood would have been more like this. The force was strong with the young Skywalker, but Obi-Wan had begun to wonder if training him as a Jedi was truly the right course. True, there were risks to be had if he wasnt trained. What if he wanted to enroll at the newly built Imperial Academy? Palpatine and Vader would surely see Skywalker and would undoubtedly follow the trail back to Tatooine. Obi-Wan shuddered at the thought of what the Empire would do to Owen and Beru in order to gain information about the two most prominent Jedi never found, Yoda and himself. However, this was a discussion to be had with the Lars on another day. For now, he would enjoy walking down the dusty streets, silently watching and protecting the young Luke Skywalker.

Chapter 1

Kayvn Roch ran down the corridor of the cramped blockade runner at a seemingly break-neck speed. Only his connection to the Force kept him from hitting a wall at full speed. Of course, it was also his connection to the Force that got him into this mess in the first place. Why couldnt the Jedi have just left me alone? It was only by chance that Master Mundis starfighter crash landed on my planet anyway. At the last second, Kayvn felt a disturbance in the Force. Ho immediately stopped and hurled himself into the nearest room. Only seconds later did the blaster fire erupt where he had been mere moments before. Sighing, he pulled out his lightsaber. I dont want to fight them. I really dont. If theyd just let me get off of the ship I wouldnt be forced to hurt anymore of them. Kayvn had started out only injuring limbs by returning blaster fire to the stromtroopers extremities. Only when they started sending more was he forced to use a more dramatic defense, which consisted of crippling, and, regrettably, using lethal force against the stormtroopers. He was so close to the docking bay. Of course, Kayvn new that Vader would never let him escape so easily. He was surprised that Vader wasnt down here himself. In order to buy himself a little more time, Kayvn sealed the door shut, and fused the control with his lightsaber. He readied himself as the stormtroopers placed an explosive charge on the door. Kayvn placed a shield around him using the Force, and was unscathed by the debris thrown out by the explosion. The stormtroopers entered seconds later, blaster rifles firing. Kayvn easily deflected the first barrage, taking all but one of the first wave out. In the disorder, Kayvn shut down his lightsaber and rolled for the door. He leapt back up to a standing position, igniting his lightsaber and deflecting two shots from a blaster in the process. He then ran down the corridor again, using the Force to give him extra speed. He held his lightsaber over his head, deflecting any shots that got to close. Kayvn arrived at the shuttlebay, and, after quickly scanning it for the available ships, he chose a Naboo starfighter. True, the ship had seen better days, but Kayvn had a good feeling about the ship. After all, he only had to make it down to the planet, where transport on a public frigate would take him away from Ord Cestus. He jumped in the starfighter, and, after a quick systems check, he was off.

Sorry for taking so long with the next chapter. Been kinda busy

Chapter 2

Nera Fol tapped her foot impatiently, waiting for the transport to arrive. All this nonsense about an Imperial blockade. The Republic never cared about the fringe systems, so why should the Empire? Nera snorted derisively. I guess they need to tax someone other than the elite in the inner core. She sighed in relief as the transport finally came into view. As she moved forward, a man bumped into her. Hey, watch it space slug! The man turned, surprised. My apologies. I was in a hurry and not paying attention to anyone around me. With one look, Nera knew that he lived in the inner core. But what was he doing on a public transport? Yeah, well, dont let it happen again. Nera moved through the line into the ship, then she took her appointed seat. That man was walking up the aisle. He glanced down at his ticket, then glanced at the empty seat next to her. He sat down, and turned to her. Im afraid we didnt get properly introduced before. My name is Kayvn Roch. He extended his hand, waiting for a handshake. Nera reluctantly complied. And Im Nera Fol. Listen, I think its obvious that I dont like you, and you dont like me. Kayvn cocked one eyebrow. What makes you think that I dont like you? Nera sighed, Isnt it obvious? Youre from the inner core. You think youre so much better than us out here on the fringe systems. Kayvn again cocked an eyebrow. If I was from the inner core, why would I be on a public transport? If I was from the inner core, I would never ride in a starship like this. I think that I would hire a pilot with a nicer ship. Nera stared at Kayvn for a moment, then spoke. Listen, you just have the look of someone from the inner core. Your clothes are too nice and your accent is definitely Coruscanti. Kayvn chuckled. Well then, I gues I have a confession to make. You see, Im a Jedi Knight. Those Imperials are looking for me. Im the reason this transport is late, and Im the reason that were going to be stopped and searched before we can leave this system. Nera squinted at Kayvn. Listen, just because I think you look like you came from the inner core is no reason to mock me. At that moment, a voice came over the intercom system. Attention ladies and gentlemen. We will be stopping for a short while for a mandatory search by Imperial forces. Please remain calm and comply with their orders. Kayvn looked at Nera at winked. Nera scoffed, then turned to see the stormtroopers filing in. The commander walked in, looked around the room, then spoke into his comlink. Within seconds of this, Kayvn was out of his chair with an activated lightsaber in his hand. The commander stepped forward. Jedi, we know you value the lives of innocents. Surrender now and their safety will be guaranteed. If you do not, we will not be held responsible for any injuries sustained by them. Kayvn looked around the room, then looked back at the commander. On that blockade runner, I was only trying to injure your troopers, not kill them. You have threatened innocent lives. Any restrictions on killing stormtroopers has now been lifted. Your lives are now forfeit. Before any shots could be fired, Kayvn gestured with his hand. A large containment door fell between the stormtroopers and the passangers. Kayvn smirked. Well, that should hold them for a while. Nera, the first to come out of the shock of seeing an actual Jedi, spoke first. You mean you werent lying to me about being a Jedi? Kayvn turned and grinned. Of course not. Im a Jedi. I dont lie.
