Tue May 08, 2007 3:34 pm Hamas 'Mickey Mouse' wants Islam takeover |
|
Quote: | Hamas militants have enlisted the iconic Mickey Mouse to broadcast their message of Islamic dominion and armed resistance to their most impressionable audience little kids.
A giant black-and-white rodent named "Farfour," or "butterfly," but unmistakably a Mickey ripoff does his high-pitched preaching against the U.S. and Israel on a children's show run each Friday on Al-Aqsa TV, a station run by Hamas. The militant group, sworn to Israel's destruction, shares power in the Palestinian government.
"You and I are laying the foundation for a world led by Islamists," Farfour squeaked on a recent episode of the show, which is titled, "Tomorrow's Pioneers."
"We will return the Islamic community to its former greatness, and liberate Jerusalem, God willing, liberate Iraq, God willing, and liberate all the countries of the Muslims invaded by the murderers."
Children call in to the show, many singing Hamas anthems about fighting Israel. |

I don't think I've ever seen you make a post that had nothing to do with Christians or Christianity as a whole. You like to twist a lot of the topics to do that.
Instead of discussing the subject material that was posted, you turned it around to point out you own personal prejudice. The article posted was not about the Jesus camp and if you were simply making a comparison, surely you have a little more to say rather then just leaving it there?

Both are extremely prejudicial, full of hate, and turn the country's leaders into near god like figures. I would have elaborated further, but I had to go somewhere. Stop jumping to conclusions.

I didn't say the comparison was hard to see. I was asking if you had more to contribute to the discussion. Ok....they have similiarities...and? Get a discussion out of that. What else about that? What does that mean that they are so similiar? Do they have any differences? What? There are no early conclusions. When you leave it like the way you did, you simply left it as you have your own prejudice and have nothing more to say.

Since when does "Jesus camp" preach terrorism? That's a sick comparison that simply cannot be made, WeAz. Not to mention hateful. It's always Christians are terrorists with you, isn't it?
Now that that's out of the way, this is absolutely, positively sick, taking a character like Mickey Mouse and using it for terrorist purposes. How evil can they get?

Hey, RM. There *is* a similarity between Jesus camp and this here, but, it isn't a huge similarity. While Jesus camp does not preach terrorism, per se, it does sort of send subliminal messages and preaches an almost militant view of Christiany, to "take back America for Christianity". Now, I'm not saying that the people with Jesus camp are terrorists, but, there *is* a sort (if small) similarity and, as you and I are both biased in our opinions, I realize that you will never agree with me and I'm going to stop right now.
Moving on to the actual story involving Mickey Mouse, I also agree that this is despicable. I've been reading "1984" and "Brave New World" and the kind of subliminal messaging beind used with this whole Mickey Mouse deal is not that different than the stuff in "Brave New World". Not a good thing.

Okay, I can see the small - tiny - similarities, actually, in terms of the premise of the rhetoric and some of what's said and so forth, but not necessarily the rhetoric itself.

That's all I'm saying. I'm suprised you actually realized that. I'm not calling those involved with Jesus camp terrorists, but, the way things are being drilled into their minds is similar to the Mickey Mouse thing here.

I mostly agree in terms of, "Let's take America back" and so forth. That's pretty much it, lol, but there is, indeed, some agreement there, however small.

| Neither Jesus Camp or the Iranian cartoons preach terrorism, they preach hate, the precursor to it.

That's so not true about Iranian cartoons, and I couldn't begin to disagree with you more about Jesus Camp and hate. That's just ridiculous.

May I suggest talking about Jesus camp in another topic, should you so choose?
This kind of technique isn't new. They've been targeting kids for extremist views for a long time. They literally had a sesame street type deal that glorified killing yourself to kill "infidels."

Anyone who is smart knows that if you want to control people, the first thing that you do is throwing propaganda at the children. Hitler did it, and it seemed to work quite well for him. It's most tragic that these children will grow up to hate because of their upbringing, which they had no choice in.

I must say that I'm both pleased and impressed, not to mentioned surprised, with the response of the Palestinian Information Ministry's response to this program. Apparently they've pulled it for review, claiming it to be a "mistaken approach" to the Palestinian struggle against Israeli occupation.

Obviously your parents never had to live in a christian boarding school. I can see distinct similarities...
anyways...
I think this is very sick. VERY VERY SICK.
Disney, Inc. Should sue for copyright infringement
and they should catch the mouse and feed him to a sylvester-knock off.
And then they should catch all the hamas people.
And put them in jail.
I'd be more sick and sadistic about my views, but I just took my medz. Sorry. No gruesome death ideas right now.

So much for the Palestinian government doing the right thing. He's back on the air.

The should have the U.S. army on air come, and rip off his head, and stuff it down a tank barrel, and then fire it at the hamas leader. Wouldn't that make a big pretty statement?
...Sorry. Apocalyptic mindset in gear.
