What a waste of state resources and time, just like it was when the legislature here in CO debated the Iraq war. This is what our state legislatures are elected to do? I think not. I don't care about the fact that what they're doing is so stupid and idiotic, but rather that it's a misuse of taxpayer dollars that's going on in all these Democrat-controlled legislatures. I think we can all agree that this is a waste of time.

I will agree with you that it is a waste of time, RM, because everyone knows that the President is not going to be impeached, even if he may deserve it (I'm not saying so, though).

I don't agree with what Bush has done in Iraq. Not at all. However, I'm not thinking impeachment, though, he may deserve it. It is a waste of time, though, because it will do nothing, except point out that Vermont doesn't like him. Go Vermont.

Really? May I remind you of his massive missuses and unconstitutional uses of power, lying to the public, etc.

What did we try to impeach Clinton for?

I think what he has done far outweighs a hummer.

This is a step in the right direction.

Bush and Cheney will never be impeached. They deserve more than Clinton ever did, though.

It begins.

Rep. Kucinich has introduced Impeachment Articles against Cheney.

Sorry for asking the blatantly obvious question here, but why are we trying to impeach people who are going to be out of office in a little more than a year?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if one removes Bush and Cheney from office, the next person in line is Nancy Pelosi, who is a Democrat. Now, I am admittedly not as informed about Pelosi's capabilities as I could be, so I don't think I could make an accurate determination of how she'd fare as president. But it's safe to say that given the amount of time she'd have in office, and the current situation of affairs, it would be difficult for anyone to handle the job well.

The Republicans would certainly be unhappy that their President gets ousted. The Democrats would be unhappy because of the backlash from however Pelosi tries to deal with the quagmire of Iraq and whatnot.

I think it's safer to just let Bush and Cheney continue playing in their sandbox until recess is over.

I agree with Hitchhiker here.

As much as I dislike Bush and Cheney, we're already gearing up for 2008. Also, we haven't exactly had a stunning trend of trust in our presidents. We've only ever had three impeachments in our countries history.

Andrew Johnson was aquitted because there weren't quite enough votes.

Nixon resigned before being kicked out.

Clinton was impeached, but not booted.

Now we're talking about Bush. If this happens we'll have had four impeachment trials - three of them in the last thirty odd years? Not a good trend for the United States government.

My personal preference would be to launce an investigation after they're out, and if needed, press charges then.

I think they should impeach Bush and Cheney, they're nothing better than Saddam.

Are you serious? Do a little history research if you are.

Now back to the real world...what a waste of times and resources. No one says you have to like Bush at all, but I think most people can come to the consensus that this is stupid and pointless.
