In regards to the descendants thing, I have reservations about them surviving, however, as to keep it original, I see why you wish to do so. As long as none of my characters have any descendants, I'm fine with it.

Ok... you probably won't believe me, but I'm remote controlling my boyfriend's laptop from Grand Rapids (he lives on the other side of the state) because I can't log into STV on EITHER of my computers. Like, my laptop, my tower, my roommate's computer, my friend Nicole's computer, or any of the computers on campus. They keep telling me that STV keeps timing out or the site "doesn't exist."

So.... I"m out of posting ability for the next, god knows how long. I haven't been able to access it since like Friday or something. Which is annoying.

But just letting you guys know that I haven't died. My internet is just telling people that my IP doesn't "exist" so I can't log onto the forum or even VIEW anything on this forum.

So there's my excuse...

Alright, we'll hold off on the wedding being the next episode then. No worries. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Aw come on... we don't REALLY need her for the wedding do we...?

That sucks, Z. The same thing happens to me at one of my theatre's. It's seriously compromised my posting opportunities... but I can at least get on on my laptop. We'll miss you while you're gone.

I'd like to say good idea with the FAQ thing. You even expanded on a few questions I still wondered about.

and I got a chuckle out of this:

Founder wrote:

I don't know if humor was the intent here or not but it works if someone knows about all three subjects involved.

Announcment:

I've spoken to Andy last night, he currently has exams, and cannot post much, if at all for a few days. With this, I have recived permission to post as his Characters, and to assist in moving the episode on, so that we're not held up waiting. I shall attempt to have a post up tonight, but I ahve to work soon, either tonight or tomorrow it will be up for everyone to beable to post. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

I'll have a post up soon, meanwhile, I'm a tad...concerned about things...a hanger bay? Um, ok...did you clear that sort of thing?

Also, please no one do not make any sort of attack or establishment with out clearing it first. (Namely with me as Founder is occupied for the moment)

I just read the last post and it doesn't make any sense. Given what we know about an Intrepid class Starship its structural limitations would not allow for a hangar bay.

I'm a little confused as to how to respond...

Well, you also have to consider the fact, How many Wars has there been in the Past 15 years? Two? Three? Starfleet would Most likely Outfit the larger Starships With Hanger Bays for Fighters in case of the outbreak of more conflict.

As for the battle, i've already asked founder about two fronts but having one not work,He said he would be ok with it, the attack from the outside is going to fail. Read Over the Posts on the current and last page, specificly those concerning the Beast. You'll understand.

I'm not going to get into a power stuggle with you. The Intrepid class Starship is not a big ship. Galaxy class or Sovrieign(sp?), now those might be able to pull it off. But not an intrepid class.

Yeah, but I've been in contact with Founder, so I know whats supposed to happenw with the beast and a fighter attack is not what will defeat it.

Also, Vorrik, like SM said an Intrepid class simply isnt large enough, the cargobays were not large enough, it's really a matter of physics, I asked if the fighters were cleared, please answer that.

Ok, I know this post is...very late and I'm sorry about that. I kind of...ran away from DSG for a little while due to numerous reasons. However, it was screwed up of me to not even give you all so much as a warning. So again, I'm sorry about that.

I have become a bit disgruntled with the way DSG has been moving and had been moving. I just became very dissapointed and kind of retreated from DSG as a result. I don't think I'd be very fair if I wasn't honest with the DSG crew. I was very close to closing DSG and I still am. However, someone talked me out of it and I decided that I will keep DSG going. Although, my heart really isn't into it as much as it used to be. I don't mean offense as I know some will get angry at how I want to lock DSG. I love the characters and what you all did with them, don't get me wrong. Everyone did great and I don't mean to anger anyone by saying that I prefer DSG to be locked.

DSG has been a really unique learning experiance when it comes to RPing. I'm really pleased with what I did learn and I want to apply it elsewhere. I feel like DSG has become really convoluted and is kind of a mess right now. Sorting it out would be...a mes and will be. Going back to something simple and with all the knowledge and experiance I have with DSG is something I really want to do. It would allow things to be done right.

I don't want to give up on ST RPG as it is fun and I know with the new movie coming up and the new online game coming that a resurgence in Trek will emerge. So I don't really want to leave Trek behind. I want to create a new ST RPG on STV. One that will mirror the success that DSG has had. Of course, nothing like that can really be attained without you all. The only reason DSG has gotten this far is because of the posters. So, I'm asking that others please follow me to this other idea I have.

I know that many won't want to as they don't like being part of more then one RPG or they feel that other RPGs that have been attempted always fail. Well the reason they always fail is because a lack of membership and that many of the GM's are terrible. I would do what I did with DSG to the other, new RPG. I wouldn't abandon it or treat it like some side project. I want it to be the new beginning that I feel DSG really needs.

Of course, I'm sure many are asking "What is to stop you from doing what you did to DSG to this new idea? You're too fickle and it isn't a good quality in a GM."

That would be a reasonable question to ask. I understand any hesitation, but a lot of you have been here since the beginning of DSG or at least for a long time. Enough to know me as a GM. I put a lot into DSG and tried to keep it as orderly as I can. I didn't want to just end it. I tried to pass it off to others, but no one would take it and claimed that it could only be me. I don't agree with that sentiment, but nevertheless that is the case with DSG. I had even considered doing a reboot, but I realized that it would be pointless as we would simply be starting DSG from scratch while repeating all the good stuff we did with our characters. It would be absolutely nothing new. So I felt that simply starting from scratch with a new and unique idea is the only way to go. A part of what made DSG so special is that no one had ever really tried it before.

I can only promise you all that I really would put a lot of effort into this new idea and would not toss it aside. My near decision with DSG isn't just a matter of "Oh I'm bored" or "Oh I don't like the story anymore" type of deal. I assure you it is really complicated and is a result of a great many things, some that go beyond the RPG itself. I don't think any new idea could survive without you all, which is why I ask you all to help me with that.

The bottom line is that I agreed to continue DSG, while simultaneously opening this new idea. I hope that I have my old crew with me on a new adventure. Again, I'm sorry for taking so long to come around.

You know where I stand on the matter, Founder.

Just to let you all know, me and Founder have been talking over the plot of his new RPG. It is a good plot. I think so, anyways. Not the typical "let's go explorin'" side RPG we often see on STV. It has some thought into it, just like DSG.

I guess I'm kinda happy to keep DSG going, as well. I remember, just before all of this happened, I had sent Founder a pretty detailed plan that I had for Juliana. So, now that we're keeping the RPG running, I may yet still be able to implement it.

And, like SM, I'm fine with all of this.

When I first came to STV on June 23rd 2006 I was honestly intimidated. I had been a member of several forums and role-playing boards before this one. None of them, not one had given me the sense of acceptance and friendship that came with DSG. I still dont know any of you personally. Thats ok though. I imagine if we ever met face to face our actions would be much the same as they are on the forums here. I wouldnt speak for any of you but thats how I feel.

Next month on the 23rd I will have been here a year. The STV community has been a little hectic at times but ultimately friendly and helpful. From my experiences in DSG in made me realize how important canon is when it comes to something trek like. Ive said this before and I shall say it again. Some of us have had our disagreements and been pushed to the edge more than once. Nerves frayed and status hanging upon a thread.

The compassion and tolerance of this community is important to me. I only wish the wide world was as capable of it as you are. Most of my friends have been made through things like this. RPGs, writing projects, video games.

Founder, Lord Borg, Valathous, the three Ive had the most problems with. Most of the time were able to come to an understanding. We talk civilly and at times I dare even to call it friendship. Though I know none of you personally and likely never will, I would be proud to call you friends.

The rest of the crew I dont recall having any real problems with. I enjoyed coming here and seeing what was next. The variety and sheer amount of ideas and stories is something Ive grown to like. Some of my Trek Fanfic details have changed due in part to things Ive learned here. This community, these people work in much the way a crew of a starship does. We come together for common goals and interests.

If it takes longer for DSG to get back on track so be it. As long as it stays good. And the people, you the community have made me laugh, helped me to learn things and brought my attention to some issues I have. For this I thank the lot of you. I hope to continue learning from this community and to continue being a contributing member.

The fact that DSG is stayin' alive is quite frankly just sexy in the pants.

An Eric Clapton to be sure. You could follow that Stairway to Heaven right up to the Thunder Dome.

I'm glad your experiances have been good here at DSG/STV for the most part.
