PostFri Apr 13, 2007 2:55 pm    Voyager On DVD

For those of you who have purchased some of Voyager's seasons on DVD, I have a couple of questions:

1. What season are they up to?

2. Are there any extras, like beind the scenes footage, interviews, bloopers, delected scenes, etc.? I would like to see how some of these episodes were created.

At $150 a season, it'd better be worth it. Otherwise, I'm considering just taping all of the episodes that air on Spike and making my own collection. A friend of mine used to tape each and every episode, but got tired of it when things like air schedules, VCR malfunctions, power outages, and other annoying things kept causing her to miss them and get them recorded in chronological order.

Thanx!

I can inform you that all seven seasons of Star Trek: Voyager have been released on DVD.

Thre are many extras, no deleted scenes, sorry. There are a few makings of, I think, many interviews with the cast as they discuse their feelings on Characters, episodes and entirie seasons with each set.

I'd encourage you to look around before purcasing, I payed far less then 150 a set.

I ended up getting a membership to B&N so that I could get the discount when buying the seasons. I think it was like 10%...but they're still about $110 per season.

Amazon.com sells them for around $100, and the shipping is free.

The only cut scenes are the ones from when Genevive Buljoid (or however you spell her name ) was Janeway.

The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine have recently gotton price cuts by about half bringing them down to a price of 49-69 dollars US (Depending where you look). With time, Voyager might go though a similar price cut.

Hmmm.....

Then it seems I'll just wait then. It would be nice to eventually watch Voyager all over again uninterrupted. As long as it has extras, though, as most DVDs should have, in my opinion. Every DVD I get, I like HAVE to watch the extras and deleted scenes and so on.

I might be old-fashioned, but I prefer collecting videos. I have em all except for still chasing Year of Hell, Day of Honour and a couple of mid 2nd-season eps and elogium, projections

I've got all 7 seasons and love 'em ALLL! I bought the first 3 seasons on ebay. They were already opened, but in perfect shape, and I saved myself $50. I wouldn't trade not having them for the world. Every season has extra stuff on the last disk. Interviews, and all sorts of stuff. It's a good investment that'll never get old!! Trust me !

There might be better deals out there, but here is one option...

DeepdiscountDVD - the entire Voyager set Seasons 1-7, $598 USD Free shipping.

http://www.deepdiscount.com/viewproduct.htm?productId=5781589

Forget videotaping and transfering - lousy picture - and uuugghh commercials - they go by so much quicker and easier when you dont have to deal with commercials plus you're getting the entire episodes, not any that might be cut for any reason

i know all tv shows want to make money, but holy crap...

you don't need to charge over $100 per season.

i bought all the seasons of ER that are out, and they were only $50 each.

you should but the entire series in one on Ebay, i cost twice as much as a regular season, but your getting 7 seasons so it works out. trust me i used to buy the 7 season sets and then resell them individually to make a profit.

I got all 7 seasons on DVD, they have everything you'd expect: extra footage, cast interviews, everything basically...

I dont have money to buy a whole 7 set of discs together, so I buy them one by one quite cheap at this website:

www.half.com

go there and select DVD movies then search for Star Trek Voyager, you'll see a lot of good deals. sometimes I buy a used set, sometimes its brand new, but they're all in good quality. For the 7 sets of DVDs for the seasons I pay anywhere from 60 to 85 US dollars each.

half.com is a part of ebay, but on ebay you have to go through the hassle of bidding, and then after all that time wasted ur not even guaranteed a lower price than on the half.com website for the same item. So I just find a good deal on the Voyager DVD sets on half.com and pay for it. I get it few days later in the mail.

Hope that helps.

The DVDs really have all the extras? That's so cool! Do they have deleted scenes and bloopers as well? I'm getting really anxious, although I'll probably still wait to buy it.

They have some interesting behind the scenes interviews and such, and the original footage of the first actress who played Janeway. But, alas, no bloopers or deleted scenes.

ENTERPRISE is the only trek series that I am aware of that included a gag reel - the others didnt, but ENT has one for all four seasons

I don't think Trek really kept track of blooper reels. There's a short clip (5 minutes, maybe?) on YouTube with bloopers for TNG, DS9, and VOY, but the quality isn't stunning.

If you search for enterprise bloopers or enterprise outtakes you should come up with a ton of results. However, most of them are posted by the user neko05. They're pretty funny

SWEET! I'll have to check that out when I get home from work! It'd be nice to put an episode or two on my iPod so I have something to keep me occupied during the slumps. lol!

It is. Apparently it wasn't Apple though, but Paramount that did this...not sure why, but whatever.
