PostFri Oct 06, 2006 9:58 pm    [Fan Fiction -lock please] Star Trek Chronoshift 1.1

Alright, before I get started, I know, it's not a popular subject based on the fact that my RPG failed, and it's poll had some rather non-positive results as to what people thought of it, but I LIKE THE IDEA, so I'm gonna write it myself.
With that in mind, CREATIVE or ASSISTING criticism is welcome, however simply posting "This idea sucks" or "Your a crack-pot" will not particularily amuse me, because I'm doing my best to put alot of thought into this.

Star Trek Chronoshift - Chapter Negative 1 - The part that didn't exist.

2027 - Einstein Institute for Chronologic Technologies
Professor Einstein pondered the question for the 10,241,942nd time.
How could he correct the timeline.
Time was something he had meddled with before, and the results ran amuck.
The THIRD great war between the allies and the soviets, and eventually yuri.
Then, the post-war madness that had befallen the planet.
He pondered the question for the 10,241,943rd time.
The planet was now almost a wasteland. Almost completely useless.
The polar Ice caps had melted, causing a series of floods that removed entire COUNTRIES... The nuclear after-effect of the war left thousands of homes, and rainforests, and...just about every habitat to humans or animals known to earth... hard to inhabit. Alaska was now a balmy 43 degrees in the winter, and much of australia, russia, north, and south america, and egypt was inhabited by genetically modified, or genetically mutated creatures... all of this... because of his time tampering. Everything would have been just fine, had it not been the soviets launching a nuclear assault on the Allies, and the Allies, now back in command of thier particle cannon, and ICBM missiles, along with half a billion new dirty tricks, and the soviets completely re-defining aerial combat with thier new Mig-28s, and... starting a bloody war.
What was left?
No winners. ALOT of losers.
Mother nature seemed to be targetting him specifically, as if her, time, and science were co-conspiring against him. Most "Superweapons" didn't even work anymore... the ICBM missiles long since out of stock, the nuclear missiles would detonate immediately after the doors opened, The Iron curtain, pride of the soviets, useless in the now highly ionized atmosphere, the particle cannon with the same problem, and lastly, his blessed weather storm generator... useless. Mother nature had reclaimed her abilities to control the weather.
Now the black forest poured toxic rain, and the ground ate people like quick sand. The trees, having been genetically mutated, accidentally, during the war with Yuri, actually moved and talked. Not usually having nice things to say, mind you, but they moved and talked.
He pondered the question for the 10,241,944th time.
"How many times now, professor?" His aid, Michael asked him.
"12 more then the last time, not that it matters." Professor Einstein replied, rather grimly.
"10,241,944?"
"Yes..." He replied, getting more quiet then usual.
"Professor?"
"10241944..."
"Professor?"
"Or... 10/24/1944..."
The old-fashioned battle command console came on-line, and the Chrono-lab's air-strike horns started up.
"Professor! An Air-Strike?" Michael asked.
"That's not possible! The ionized atmosphere, and Mistress Nature's storms out there should stop them before they get CLOSE!"
"None the less, professor, Radar scans show 3 quickly moving aircraft."
"Three? Must be a pirate raiding party... no government would send that many, or that few in to try something."
----
Mig Pirate Squadron
----
"Mig leader, this is mig 3!"
"Mig 3, go ahead."
"This toxic goop we are flying above is messing with my radar scanners."
"Mig 3, you are using a 13 year old aircraft, alongside two mig-28s. We are more then well aware of your vehicle's limitations."
"Mig leader, this is mig 2."
"Go ahead mig 2."
"Sir, my radar scanners are also being tampered with."
Mig leader checked his radar screens, and found them semi-inoperative.
"Check that migs 2 and 3. My scanners are also on the blink. We're going manual."
"Mig 2 checks"
"Mig 3 checks"
----

Professor Einstein stared at the two-way radio in the control room.
"Michael..."
"Yes Professor?"
"They are comming... to destroy the chronolab."
"Professor?"
"...Right idea... wrong time-frame..."
"Professor?"
"You know... you sound like a parrot. It's simple. They plan to destroy the chrono-lab to prevent more time tampering... but... we need to correct the time-line first!"
"Professor.. that means..."
"I must go back into the past and destroy the chrono-lab."
Michael stared out the window.
"You must hurry professor. They are comming closer. The trees are getting restless."
"Michael, prepare a chrono-jump."
"Yes professor."
----
"Mig leader, this is mig 3. Did that tree just move?"
"Mig 3, you idiot. Trees can't move."
"Mig leader, check that, after Yuri's genetic mutator went hay-wire, I've seen grass that ate people, and I've seen people that can breathe under-water. Trees walking doesn't sound like too far of a jump to me."
"Mig 2, what have you been smoking?"
"Mig leader, this is mig 3. I've seen potatoes eat entire buildings. But... I have yet to see a tree move."
"Migs 2 and 3, remind me to get you both checked for mental problems."
"Mig leader, check that."
"Mig leader, this is mig 3. target in sight."
----
Einstein sat in the one-person chair. He hoped he was going to make it in time.
"NOW MICHAEL!" he exclaimed.
"Chrono-shift in 5...4...3...2...1..." the automated voice said softly.
----
"Mig leader, this is mig 3. My old tactical command system is saying some silly blabber in russian that translates into 'Warning! Chronosphere activated.' Any idea what it is talking about?"
"It means we might be too late to stop Einstein from further damaging the time-line."
"Oh bloody hell."
"Indeed. Proceed and fire anyways."
--------
Michael stared out the window. There were missiles comming at him. Rather quickly.
He was worried. The temporal core was still active.
Hastily, he tried to shut it down.
>Impact<
------
"Mig leader, this is mig 3. We have confirmed target destruction."
A massive blue wave began emitting from the point where the temporal core had been.
"Mig leader, this is mig 2. I have contact with a distortion wave."
"Migs 2 and 3, I copy."
----
Einstein stared at the pot of tea he had put on before he had left that night. He hadn't poured a cup, he just left the chrono-lab on test cycles, and forgot about the pot. Then he went home.
His aid, thankfully, had gone home already.
He stared at the controls. They looked so old compared to the computerized interface the allies had installed. He could almost hear Lt. Eva's voice.
He poured a cup of the tea from the pot that he hadn't in the past. He sat down at the controls, and began starting a temporal overload in the chrono-matrix.
He knew that his past self would come in the next morning, see the chronolab had destroyed itself, and write the whole project off as an unstable experiment.
The air-strike horns started to sound.
He checked the radar.
Three migs. Same place. Oh no. This can't be happening... he thought.
He dropped the tea cup on the control board.
The cup landed on, and lowered, the "timeshift" controls.
The tea flew from the cup deep into the control circuits.
The display merely read "Chronoshift activated."
The clock froze in place.
-------
"Mig leader, this is mig 3. My radar is up, and the target is... still there?"
"Mig 3, this is mig leader. I believe we have gone back in time. This doesn't matter. Re-target the chrono-lab, we'll destroy it now, and land in moscow, and the premier will give us a big parade. They will take the technologies of our aircraft, and smite the allied dogs."
"Mig leader, check that."
-------
Chrono-shift.
-------
Instantly, the chrono-lab dissapeared. In it's place, a crater where it's foundations had been.
The migs, no longer having a timeframe to come back from phazed out of existence.
-------
October 24, 1944
Albert Einstein drove his beat up old ford to the site where the chrono lab had been.
The local authorities stared at it in wonder.
"What happened here?" Einstein asked.
"Professor! I believe your device doesn't work." An officer told him.
"No, Officer. It appears to work to well. The device is merely unstable. Look! Not one sliver remains of the lab, just a neatly cut image of it's foundation impressed in the surrounding dirt. It was a nice theory... but it was only a theory."
"Very well, professor. I will log this down as "unexplained accident"." The officer said, and got in his patrol car, and drove away.
Lying there, on the ground, in the middle of the foundation, was an ornamental tea-cup.
Einstein picked it up, and walked away.

...((To be continued.))...

Star Trek: Chronoshift Chapter 1

The Gaurdian Planet:
Admiral Morrow, cheif of Temporal Mechanics and Devices division of starfleet command, stared into the gaurdian.
He watched the clip of earth's second world war again.... and the temporal blip of Einstein's chrono lab.
"Gaurdian... what was that?"
Please redefine your question.
"Gaurdian... what caused Professor Einstein's lab to disappear?"
That device was removed by a seperate time/space conflux which should not still exist, yet it does. the temporal movement listed here is the end of a timestream that should not have existed, and existed merely because of one man's ego.
"Gaurdian... I would like to see that timestream please."
Very well...
Admiral Morrow watched the display for hours.
The Soviets... capturing einstein... the allies rescuing him... the end of the second world war... a much more brutal world war... Yuri. The start of the third world war, the psychic techniques which this madman controlled the soviets, the allies waging war against the soviets, the psychic dominator in san francisco, the air strike, the time/space alteration, the third world war AGAIN... and the devastation to earth. Then... trees that could walk and talk, potatoes eating the soviet government buildings, ICBM strikes, Nuclear strikes... and the world went crazy. He watched the last of the events.
He watched the chronolab dissapear.
"Gaurdian... tell me... where did the chrono-lab GO? It wasn't destroyed, if I saw that right."
Correct. The chrono-lab has moved into the future, beyond my sight. Error. The chrono-lab has just appeared at Co-ordinants *Binary code*
-----
USS Monitor, October 24th, 2444
-----
Captain Harry Kim stared out the window of the observation deck at the planet he had been sent to. He was waiting for an ion storm, which was emitting strange temporal signals, to clear, so his ship could scan this strange planet.
He watched the spot come by for the third time.
It appeared to be a small metallic building, which was visible only because it was reflecting the light of the sun.
Near as he could figure, it was the only building on the planet.
As he watched it intently, he heard the intercom whistle.
"Sir, it's ensign lipton."
"Go ahead, ensign."
"The Ion storm is clearing. You might want to come take a look at these scan results."
"I'll be right there ensign." He replied, rather happily.
As he walked out of his quarters, and to the 'lift, he stared back at the window, which now showed the disappearing Ion storm.
Almost as if Nature didn't want someone to find this planet... between the unexpected warp drive failures on our way here, the constant streams of ion storms... not to mention that wormhole that stuck us back to starbase 1... it's taken nine bloody years to get here. He thought to himself, pondering wether or not this place was worth the wait.
"Captain on deck!" Ensign lipton exclaimed.
Everyone stood at attention.
"At ease, ensign, before you sprain something." He said to the young lady...
This feels familiar somehow. He thought to himself.
Her face flushed, and she sat back down at her console.
Lt. Lenara Sulu stood up from her console, as it exploded into sparks.
"Sir! The Ion storm caused an overload as it disappeared. Our navigation system is down, and the scanners just went on the blink." She said, trying not to look down at her normally well manicured hands, which now were blistering with cracks and burns.
"Very well, Leiutenant, get down to sickbay, and have that fixed." He ordered.
"Aye sir." she said, and left.
He thought about assigning a replacement for her station, but, as the navigation "station" was now a smoldering pit on the floor, he thought that perhaps a fire crew, and a repair team were more in order.
"Fire control and Repair crew to the bridge please." Captain Kim said aloud, knowing that the computer would route the call to the necessary crew.
"Engineering to the Bridge, this is Commander Telara, would you mind telling the captain that he needs to stop breaking this ship?" A feminine voice carried over the comm.
Captain Kim smiled. Telara was the first Romulan in Starfleet, but she had a very human sense of humor.
"Engineering, this is the captain. I'll try to keep that in mind." He replied, trying to keep a straight face.
"Ahh.. Bridge, this is Engineering. We appear to be having some minor problems with the intercomm." Came the quick reply, followed by some laughter, just before the comm went offline.
He loved playing those games with Telara. They would make jokes, and see who could keep a straight face the longest... he usually won, but Telara had gotten him a few times.
"Sir... before the scanners went on the blink, we got some basic scans for you..." Ensign Lipton said.
"Go ahead, Ensign."
"Sir... There... is a building there. It's...of earth origin."
"Say that again ensign?"
"What's more... the temporal signature of it... describes it as being...from 1944, earth old date."
"...Admiral Morrow was telling me something about... a chronolab... or something... I should have been listening..." He said, thinking aloud.
"Cross-referencing." His chief Ops & Tactical officer said.
The small vulcan, named Sytok, had served several other ships before. He was a good chief of security, and had an affinity for history... He also ate meat, and little plants. Which was very un-vulcan of him. He actually used emotions, as well. Which annoyed almost every other vulcanoid on the ship, except Commander Telara. She called him her "Romulan brother"... and the jokes that came out of that got on Sytok's nerves every now and then.
"Captain... This building... It's..."
"Sytok?"
"It's flagged Starfleet General Order 1, under the temporal directive."
"Say that again?"
"This building, according to the flag, is from a split time-line, which was based on a theoretical device called a chronosphere... Admiral Morrow flagged it. However... There...is a life form down there. Morrow didn't say anything about life forms."
"This Chronosphere... could it have worked?"
"Affirmative, Captain. It did. Actually. According to the Gaurdian of Forever, there is only one Chronosphere in existence, however, at one point, there were as many as 90 scattered across earth."
"How come I've never heard of it?"
"Because, Captain, That time stream... doesn't exist. Nor should it have. It was started when Albert Einstein used the chronosphere to go back in time, and kill Adolph Hitler before he could start world war II, however, roughly 80 years later, according to that time stream, after undergoing several severe wars that left earth brutalized, Einstein used the chronosphere to go back in time, and destroy the chrono lab."
"But... Commander Sytok... No offence... The Chrono Lab is on the planet below us."
"That is why it is flagged uner general order 1, sir. Einstein never destroyed the chrono-lab, he accidentally sent it forward in time. This caused the even of Einstein killing Adolph Hitler to never happen, and thus, the time-line was restored."
"Sytok... Did I ever tell you time travel made me ill?"
"Yes sir."
"Then... make a report of that... and stick it on my desk. I'll try to make heads or tails of it later."
"Sir... how will flipping a coin help?"
"Sytok... now I see why Telara likes you so much?"
"Sir?"
"Your sense of humor... is very sharp, Sytok."
"Thank you sir."
Harry shook his head. He remembered Commander Tuvok, and his sense of humor, that few people realized he had... and he smiled.
Then he remembered that Admiral Janeway had sent him here to figure out what the strange temporal readings comming from this planet were all about... and now he knew.
"Sytok, take the bridge. Commander Telara, Leiutenant Sulu, Ensign Lipton, Please report to the transporter room."
As he walked to the 'lift, he looked at Sytok.
"Don't blow the ship up while I'm gone."
"I'll try, sir."
The Turbolift doors closed, and Harry burst out into laughter.

When he finally composed himself, and walked into the transporter room, he found one very unamused commander, and a leiutenant brushing her hair, and... no ensign. Anywhere.
He heard someone running up behind him... and...
BANG!
Ensign Lipton ran into him.
"Sorry sir. I didn't want to be late." She said, looking slightly ashamed.
"Well... alright, just this once, I'll forgive you, Ensign." He said.
She looked down.
Telara and Lenara burst into laughter.
"Come on ensign! He's not being serious. I bet he ENJOYED that." Leiutenant Sulu said, between laughs.
Harry smiled.
"Alright... you got me ladies, let's go meet our life form down there." He said to them.
"Does my hair look alright?" Ensign Lipton asked.
"It looks perfect." The captain said, not catching himself quickly enough.
His face flushed, and Telara and Lenara burst into laughter again.
Ensign Lipton merely smiled, and winked at him.
This made him blush even more, and Telara fell down laughing.
"Oh for... ENERGIZE" He said quickly.

----------------------------
The "Black Forest", The gaurdian of never planet.
----------------------------
Einstein stared around the planet he had watched over for almost a decade now. His only companion, other then the now not-functioning chrono lab, and his laptop, complete with old fashioned Allied Battle Control system, was a small gate. It spoke to him ocassionally. It called itself the Gaurdian of Never, for it watched over the beings and technology that non-existant timestreams had left behind.
You are my last calling. Soon, I will have nothing to watch over, and I must go. It said to him.
"But... what will happen to me?" He asked.
That is for you to decide.
"When must you go?" He asked.
Now.
"But-!" He exclaimed.
The gate disappeared.
In it's place, 4 columns of blue light appeared.... there were... humans!
Two were definetely oriental, one clearly Japanese, and one was british... and... the last one was not human.
Captain Harry Kim, Leiutenant Lenara Sulu, and Ensign Kirsten Lipton stared at him, mouths agape.
Telara looked him over, not sure who he was.
"Before you say anything, I am not who I appear."
"You are not Albert Einstein?" Captain Kim asked.
"Who?" Telara asked quietly.
"I'll tell you later." Lenara whispered.
"Oh no, I am Albert Einstein, but not the Albert Einstein your timeline would know."
"You... Your the Albert Einstein Sytok was talking about! The one who corrected the timeline." Ensign Lipton exclaimed.
"Well... I broke it first... but... This planet is dreary. I would like to go somewhere else... if you have a place to go, I would muchly apreciate it." He said in reply.
"Hold on!" Telara said.
She walked up to the Chrono-lab's entry.
She looked up at the odd-shaped building.
"What... what is the purpose of this sphere?" She asked.
"Young lady... I will gladly explain that to you when we leave. I have reason to believe this planet will not exist for much longer." He replied.
"Kim to Monitor. Five to beam up." Einstein heard someone say from behind him.
Then he had a tingling sensation... and he was in a room.
------------
USS Monitor
------------
As he sat at the opposite end of the table from the captain, the command crew of the monitor looked at him in awe, as he described the details of the chrono-lab.
"Now, the important part of the whole lab... well... This one, anyways, is the sphere. It harnesses temporal energy, and can transport a person, or vehicle through time and space." He said.
"That sounds similar to a wormhole." Ensign Lipton said, looking slightly flustered by all teh technical terms.
"Partially, Ensign." telara said, "It is a mixture of the warp drive, a wormhole, the transporters, and a slingshot maneuvre."
The ensign only became more confused.
"However, Commander, if you noticed, I said THIS one. Within this journal I have written, I have listed the technical read-outs of several devices which may be useful to you, even now." Einstein said.
Telara looked at the book he handed her, and opened it.
Her mouth dropped almost to the floor.
Ensign Lipton peered over her shoulder.
"What is that?" She asked.
"It's an algebraic representation of a time/space continuum controlled flux device."
"What is that?" She asked.
"It's... " Telara stopped.
"What?" Kirsten repeated.
"It's.... Captain... it can be used... as a warp core. more of a..." She trailed off.
"More of a timewarp core, I believe is the phrase you are looking for, miss telara." Einstein said.
Captain kim laughed inwardly. He had stopped calling her young lady after she mentioned that she was 247 years old. Still... she was younger then him... technically, atleast.
"Bridge to Captain Kim."
"Go ahead Sytok."
"Sir... The planet has disappeared. And the Ion Storms are worsening."
"Maximum warp for Starbase 1, Commander."
"Aye sir."

It took them 9 weeks, not 9 years, to get back to starbase one.
When they got there, Admirals Janeway and Morrow were waiting.
Admiral Morrow stared at the dead body of Professor Einstein, and his looked down.
Then Telara handed him the book.
He opened it, and was shocked.
"Is..."
"Yes, Admiral. That is a chronosphere." She replied.
Admiral Morrow passed out.
"A chrono-what now, Commander?" Admiral Janeway asked.
"Well... It's a long story, admiral." Harry told her.
"That reminds me harry... How does it take you NINE years to get from here to the other side of the quadrant when we took SEVEN to get from the other side of the galaxy to here?" She asked, sounding rather amused.
"Well... According to Professor Einstein... Mother Nature didn't want us to find him."
"Excuses, Excuses, Captain." She said, with a large smile.

Chapter 1.1: Chronoship.

7 Years later....

Captain Lenara Sulu stared cautiously out the viewport of the Utopia Planitia fleet yards. She looked from ship to ship, trying to see which one was hers.
Oh, if Great Grampa could see me now, he'd have a fit! She thought to herself, thinking of old Admiral Sulu, before he died.
The admiralty had changed quite a bit since then, mind you.
Starfleet's C&C, Admiral Morrow, had personally watched over this "Special" ship's building. He said he wanted to shock the heck out of the competition. Then, Admirals Janeway and Kim had personally watched over her career, to ensure that she would make captain in time...
And then... there was Captain Kim.
Captain Kim was Admiral Kim's wife, who she had known for a great deal of time. Her full name was Captain Kirsten Lipton Kim, and she was also wondering which ship she was getting.
Lenara looked down. She knew that the likely hood of Captain Kim, being married to Admiral Kim, NOT getting the NX - 10241944 Chronoshift were roughly as likely as the Klingons suddenly publicly anouncing that they were going to start dismantling their military, and making love to every tribble they would meet.
"Would Captain Kirsten Kim please report to docking bay 3." The computer asked politely.
"Good luck Kirsty." Lenara said to her.
"Thanks Len." Was the quiet reply, as Kim walked towards docking bay 3.
Lenara looked down at Einstein's laptop. She wasn't sure why she had kept it, but she liked it. It had an "Allied Tactical Battlefied Control" program, and a "Wireless Network Adapter", which she had adapted to starfleet specs, and actually used while on the bridge. She found the quaint old keyboard much more relaxing and ergonomic then the LCSARS system. The first thing she intended to do when she got onboard HER ship was to replace the computer's voice with the Voice and Personality Protocols that Professor Einstein had left on the laptop. "Eva" was a nice lady, who played pretty good chess. But more to the point, she used a little more emotion then the starfleet standard voice.
Her Laptop beeped.
She wasn't surprised. She had long ago taken her comm badge, and the wireless adapter, and fused them together. So now everytime she got a call, the laptop picked it up.
She opened the lid, and "Eva"'s voice came out.
"Captain Lenara Sulu, Admiral Morrow has requested you to arrive at docking bay 1 in two point five minutes."
She clicked on the "reply" button.
"Recording reply." Eva said.
"Copy that." She told the laptop.
The laptop happily went through it's motions of sending the message, then beeped twice quickly, to let her know the message had been sent.
Then Lenara ran to Docking bay 1 as fast as she could.

Admiral Morrow was waiting there.
"You are .001 seconds late, Captain Sulu." He said quietly.
"Sorry sir." She replied.
He looked at the laptop.
"Is that..." He asked.
"Yes sir. I've made a few modifications to it, so that it meets my needs a little more, but it is much more useful then the PADDs." She replied.
"Ah. Well... then you are going to like this. The ATBC program should handle things nicely. Make sure you put it in the computer core." Admiral Morrow said.
"Sir?" She asked.
"What's wrong Captain? This is your ship. You had best be getting her personalized." He said with a smile, and walked away.
She stepped through the boarding airlock, and stopped.
The plate above the door read:
NX-10241944 Chronoshift
"To boldy go when no one has gone before."
Chrono-Cruiser class
Experimental
TOP-SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED.

She stared at the last words for a few moments.
Top... secret...
She stepped on board the ship.
"Please state name and rank, and place your thumb on the scanner for Thumb print and DNA testing." The annoyingly monotone computer said.
She put her thumb on the pad, and said "Captain Lenara Sulu."
The scanner blinked blue twice, then green.
"Identity Verified. Transfering command. Activating link with comm-badge."
Her laptop beeped.
She looked down.
"Link connected." the computer said.
"Wireless Connection 1 is now connected." Eva's voice said.
She looked between the pad, and the laptop, and shook her head.
"Computer, How many crewmembers are currently on board?"
"Seven." came the reply.
"Computer, request program patch through to my comm badge please." She said.
"Working..." came the reply.
She opened the laptop, and quickly downloaded EVA and the adapted Allied Tactical Battle Control system.
"...Update in progress. Please wait." Came the computer's voice.
"Upgrade complete." Eva said, with a rather happy tone.
"Sytok to all crew. Who just changed the computer's voice? That is most annoying." came a voice from her laptop.
She laughed.
Sytok? She thought... What in hell's name is HE doing here?

NX Chronoshift- Bridge
Lenara stepped carefully out of the turbolift.
"Len?" Someone rather familiar asked.
"Sytok! How goes it points" She asked.
"Well... this would certainly explain the computer's rather odd behavior." He quipped.
"Sytok.. why in gods name are you still a commander?" She asked.
"Because I choose to be, Captain." was the quiet reply.
She nodded.
"Captain... is this personality program responsible for the recent changes in the computer's chess sub routines?" He asked.
"Well of course, Sytok. Eva can play both emotionally and logically, in a rather rude combination." She replied.
"I am aware of this." He said quietly.
"She beat you? THAT is amusing, Sytok."
"Amusing is not the term I would use."
"And what would THAT be?" Came from a loud-mouthed leiutenant.
"Leiutenant? May I ask why you spoke out of term, in the presence of two senior officers?" Lenara asked him.
"Uh.. sorry sir. It's Leiutenant Jax, by the way." The trill said quietly.
She nodded.
"Captain. We are receiving orders." Sytok said from the Science & Nav console.
"Admiral Morrow." She said with a slight smile.
"Ah, Captain. Glad you were immediately available. I'm downloading the specs of your mission now, but as we're fleetcasting to an elite taskforce, I thought I'd give a summary. We are now initiating both the data link and a tri-way conversation." He replied.
"Data Transfer in progress." Eva's voice came from her laptop.
The viewscreen did a split-screen, and Captain Kim's face showed up.
"Tesla reporting in, Admiral."
"Hey Kirsty! No hard feelings!" Lenara said.
"About what? I got a similar ship. Although it's capabilities are slightly less advanced, they are also... slightly more klingon targetted." She said.
"Really?" Lenara asked.
"Well now, Captains. It seems neither of you know the full capabilities of either ship, which means, of course, that I did my job right. Kim, check your data bank, it's got the technical readouts for both ships, Sulu, Check your laptop. It should be done by now." Admiral Morrow said.
As if on cue, Eva's voice came from the laptop.
"Download complete."

End of file summary.

Lenara looked up at the Admiral, then at Kirsty, who looked up from her console at the admiral, and then at her.
"Well, Kirsty, you seem to have gotten the better ship."
"Don't count on it, Len. That chrono-warp core is going to save your ass when you need to turn-tail and run for you life. Not to mention the particle cannon." Kim retorted
"Particle cannon? Come on. A Thaleron generator can wipe out a PLANET!" Lenara replied.
"Ahh... There is one thing not listed in those files, Captain Sulu." Admiral Morrow stated.
All attention was brought to his somewhat weathered face.
"While the Tesla is indeed, an apparently more efficient vessel, there are reasons it is not this strike team's flagship. One being that it is already a noticeably powerful vessel, which the Chronoshift is not. In addition, the Chronoshift is equipped with something we aren't allowed to list in those files, incase they were intercepted. Before I say this, we are going to a secure frequency, and, Captain Sulu, from now on, either your cloak is on, or you have your Holographic Scanning Device Falsifier system up." Admiral Morrow said.
"Raising the HSDF." Sytok said.
"What the hell is that?" Captain Sulu asked.
"Simply, Captain, it is a device which holographically augments our shields to make us look like a standard Olympic class vessel." Sytok replied.
"Thanks Sytok."
"Wireless Network connection 1 is now encrypted." Eva's voice chimed, although the Starfleet standard computer voice simply stated "Secure channel activated" from the speakers of the Admiral's Office, and Tesla's bridge.
Admiral morrow displayed the tip of the Chronoshift's deflector dish on the display.
"Ladies, this is the secret that I, and the dock masters have been hiding from EVERYONE else at starfleet. It is an upgraded version of Einstein's Weather Storm Generator, which can function on planet, or create Ion storms in space. However, as the klingons have a similar weapon, and Ion storms inhibit chrono-warping, try to watch how you use it." Admiral Morrow said.
Even Sytok's eyes bulged as the final words reached thier correct potential.
"Wait! Admiral! You mean to say that if there is an Ion storm, we have to use STANDARD WARP to get away?" Lenara asked.
"That's correct, Captain Sulu. The Transwarp core doesn't have those limitations, however. But that is the point to sending both the Tesla and the Chronoshift on this mission. Each ship is a virtual mirror of eachother. The Tesla cannot engage Transwarp while the Thaleron generator is online, however, the Thaleron radiation does not affect, nor is affected by chronowarping. The particle cannon is incredibly effective against non-polarized or physically-directed shielding, but is useless against polarized shielding, or polarized hull plates. The Thaleron Generator is rather ineffective against physically directed shielding, but is incredibly effective against polarized or non polarized shielding. In addition, Thaleron radiation remains in place for longer then the particle cannon, causing constant wear and tear on the shields, eventually causing burn out, where as the Particle cannon merely overloads them with highly ionized energy, which burns out the shield generators. However, The Thaleron generator has it's own power source. The Particle Cannon cannot operate at full efficiency if the Chronoshift is seperated. From the same point of view, The Tesla's Tesla cannons are un-refined energy, which will have problems with polarized shielding, and hull plating, where as the Chronoshift's prism network uses a form of damaging UV/Heat rays, which will have problems with radiation or physical damage shielding, but will have no problems with magnetized or polarized shielding or hull plating. Each ship is an equal counter to the other, with the exception of the Weather Storm generator. This device runs off the IMPulse engines, so it can be used regardless of if the Chronoshift is cloaked, using warp drive, the particle cannon, preparing to do a chrono-warp, or firing prism or phaser shots. However, it is not usable if the ship is moving using the IMPulse engines, or, more annoyingly, if the ship is relying on the IMPulse reactors for power, such as after the Iron Curtain has been used." Admiral morrow said, clearly trying to rush through all of it.
Sytok's eyebrows lifted.
"Admiral... what you are saying... is that everything Einstein sought to destroy... has been rebuilt." Sytok stated.
"Ah, my friend, there you are wrong. He did not want the technology destroyed. He wanted it out of the wrong hands, and the wrong hands destroyed. He got his wish. Now with the bloody klingons sending a fleet to an Andorian colony planet, we get to go play 'look at my new toy!'" The admiral replied, challengingly.
"Which Colony planet?" An andorian at the engineering console asked quietly.
"Ah, Leiutenant Commander Carly Jackson, glad you asked. It's the one you are from." The admiral stated.
Her antennae drooped at the thought of her homeworld in danger.
"Your orders, effective 12 seconds from my completion of them, are to get your arses over to that colony world ASAP, and defend it at all costs, including the destruction of either of your vessels. Should that be the case, the other will attempt to rescue the crew of the deceased vessel. The only precaution is this: Neither ship must fall into enemy hands. If that happens, the other ship must destroy it. For the Chronoshift, that requires the particle cannon, and for the Tesla, that will require the thaleron generator, so try to keep those systems un-inhibited." The admiral said.
"Aye sir." Captain Kim said.
"Yes Admiral." Lenara said.
"Well? Your twelve seconds are up! Get moving!" Admiral morrow said, and cut the comm line.
Jax laughed at the admiral's sense of humor.
"Jax, quit laughing. Prep a chrono-jump, straight there." She said.
He dutifully started the computations.
"Tesla to the Chronoshift, see you when we get there. We may get an early start, but we don't get to cheat space/time the way you do. We only bend it." Captain Kim's voice came over the intercomm.
Lenara watched them activated thier transwarp drive, and blast out of the fleet yards like a bat out of hell.
"Cloaking device online." Sytok said.
"Preparing for chronowarp." Jax stated.
"Chronowarp in five...four...three...two...one." Eva droned.
"Warning. Chronosphere activated." Her laptop said.
Sytok's eyebrows raised at the apparent mis-communication between the two systems.
"Eva's still learning, Sytok. Give her a break."
"Yes Captain."
"So what's our ETA?" She asked Jax.
"Well....uh... You know when Eva said "Chronosphere activated?" Jax responded.
"Yes... what's your point?" She asked again, rather angrily.
"Well... that's roughly when we arrived at our destination, sir." Jax replied, looking rather amused.
"Uh...wow. ETA of the Tesla?" She asked.
"Two point nine six hours." He said again.
"Holy...This little ship packs quite a punch." Lenara said, with a smile.
"Logging new Interstellar speed record. 29 lightyears in .01 seconds." Sytok said, allowed, knowing that it would raise a few eyebrows among the bridge crew.
Jax almost jumped out of his chair in happyness.
"What was the last speed record for that distance?" the quiet andorian asked.
"Two point nine six hours." He said.
"Oh. So that was set with transwarp then." The captain said with a smile.
"Well...everyone go grab a coffee and a doughnut, Eva, activated Ship-wide Automation under the UFP Advanced Tactical Battle Control system." She added.
"Activating. All command controls are now reserved for computerized access only. Until further commands recieved, EVA will instruct the Chronoshift to attack any enemy vessel, and send standard greetings to allied ones, and notify the captain regardless of wether the vessel is enemy or not." Eva's voice said.
"Good. Everyone, 2 point nine hours of wait time. Enjoy it." The captain said.

Chapter 1.2: Chrono-fight

NX-Tesla

Captain Kirsten Kim stared cautiously around the bridge. Her crew, which was a full compliment, not the 7 person skeleton that Lenara was using, was mostly consisting of.. well.. security and/or science personnel.
Not a bloody nurse or doctor in the lot, just 2 EMHs that constantly argued with eachother... then again, they were marks 1 and 2, not well known for getting along that well. Around the bridge, it was mostly Vulcans... Vulcans everywhere. Everybody else's name started with S or T' ... it was getting on her nerves.
oh well. Atleast I don't have to put up with Sytok She thought to herself, with a rather large smile.
"ETA to the Chronoshift?" She asked a random S something
"12 minutes. We'll have them on scanners in 9." Lt. Commander random S vulcan name said.
To her, it had always been easy to not learn many people's names, plus it made them think they weren't worthy of her acknowledgement, which meant they tried to work hard to impress her. That was the theory.
"Ah, Captain, There be better scanners here!" Came the voice of Elaina Scott from engineering.
"Correction, hyper-scanners active Contact with the Chronoshift..." Lt. Commander random S name said, slightly annoyed at the un-professional attitude of the chief engineer.
"Red Alert. Red Alert. This is not a drill. Klingon/Romulan War-bird on the scanners." Came the annoying Starfleet Standard voice.
"Oh joy. A welcome commitee."

RDF Firebird

Commodore Telara was happy to be back in the romulan militia. More to the point, she was happy because she had been assigned to back up two of her friends from the Monitor.
"Commodore, The Chronoshift appears to be here. It just kind of... wasn't there... and now they are... almost like transportation." Some centurion said.
"Do not reveal our presence until the tesla gets here, Admiral Morrow and the Praetor's orders. Len doesn't need to know she has back up yet, but the Tesla will pick us up like a christmas tree." Telara replied.
"A.. Christmas tree commodore?" The centurion asked
"A decorative plant used in ancient human rituals. We use weapons, they use plants, different races, different protocols, I just happened to be well versed in them." Telara replied.
"Ah... Commodore? I have...contact with 3 cloaked vessels. The Chronoshift, of course... and one vessel on either side of the farthest reaches of our scanners. One is travelling at transwarp... the other standard warp..." The centurion's console beeped. "And apparently has company." He finished.
"How many?" Telara asked quietly.
"...Fifteen."
"Praetor help us, we may die here." She whispered.

NX Chronoshift
"Klingon re-inforcements in 3 minutes. Allied re-inforcements in 9 minutes." Eva's voice came over the intercomm.
"Captain... we are not alone. There is a cloak-displacement reading comming from just off our port bow... reads... Romulan, I believe." Sytok said.
"I am aware, Admiral Morrow told me we'd have... how did he phrase it? 'old friends' to help us... not entirely sure what he meant, but I'm not surprised it's a romulan ship." She replied.
"Captain, Lt. Commander Jax, and Lt. Commander Jackson report ready to beam planetside from Transporter bay 1." A quiet young ensign said from the Nav&Ops console.
"Very well ensign, tell transporter bay 1 to beam them down." She said.
The ensign nodded, and began speaking into the microphone.
"We are now at Yellow alert. Klingon re-inforcements are due in less then one minute." Eva's voice said.
"Transporter room 1 reports they are away, sir." The ensign said.
"Good. Raise shields, prepare to dis-engage cloak. I want these buggers to see us the second they come out of warp." She said quickly.
"Klingon Re-inforcements in 5...4...3...2...1..." Eva's voice counted down.
On cue, the cruisers appeared on the view screen.
"Uncloak now, ensign." She said.
"Aye sir!" Then ensign replied quickly.
All 15 klingon vessels stopped, apparently unsure what to do with a single starship in the way.
"Incomming transmission." Eva said.
"Pipe it to the viewscreen, Eva." The captain replied.
"Attention feeble hospital ship. Do not attempt to interfere with out glorious mission, or I shall blow you to kingdom come!" Came a klingon voice.
Lenara shook her head.
"Klingon commander... how good are your scanners?" She replied.
"Good enough to see you are barely armed, Starfleet Targ." came the insulting reply.
Her eyes narrowed.
"Sytok, drop the HSDF." She replied.
"Captain that is directly against orders." Sytok replied to her order.
"Morrow's orders. But if these Klingons die, then they can't relay any information, can they?" She countered.
"Very well captain. HSDF disengaged." He said.
"Klingon commander, I believe you should kill your science officer, as we are armed with enough firepower to take you on ourselves, never mind the fact that we have present, and incomming backup." She said rather bluntly.
"You lie." The Klingon commander replied.
"Sir... That ship... is highly armed... and well shielded." The science officer said in the background.
There was the sound of a disrupter blast.
"It appears you do NOT lie about your ship's capabilities, however, I believe you are bluffing about re-inforcements." He said, a little less sure of himself.
"Commodore Telara, disengage cloak please." Captain sulu said on a broadcasted message.
Instantly the Romulan Bird of Vengance appeared.
The Klingon commander could not keep his curses to himself.
"Then you shall BOTH die in a glorious blood bath." The Klingon commander said after a few seconds of cursing.
"Ensign... make an example of that idiot. Fire the Particle cannon at the klingon flagship. Route power from the chrono-core, and the standard warp core. I want this to hit him HARD." She said.
The ensign tapped a few buttons on her console.
"Warning. Particle cannon activated." Eva's voice came from the laptop.
"Sytok... you are going to have to fix that later." Sulu said, getting mildly annoyed.
"I'll do my best, captain." Sytok replied.
"Sir, Klingon flagship destroyed. One shot. Went through the shields like they didn't exist, straight through thier weapons, 9 decks, and thier warp core. Instant explosion." The ensign said, rather impressed.
The remaining klingon vessels stopped in their tracks.
"Commodore, give them a volley." She said over the comm-link.
"I hear you, Captain." Telara's voice came back.
The Fire Bird began it's firing sequence.
"You Romulan scum, you expect us to LET you fire that on our fleet?" Came a much younger sounding klingon voice.
"Ensign, move slightly forward, butting our nose about 20 kilometres out from the Fire Bird's nose. Then activate the Prism network. ANYTHING other then fleet or Romulan ships comes in range, you blow it till kingdom come till I give you another order, are we clear?" She asked.
"Aye sir. Activating targetting sequence." She replied.
Three klingon vessels attempted to come within phaser range at the same time.
"Cancel that, ensign. Wide-spray Prism fire. Let's see how they handle it. Fire maximum range, creating a solid line of Prism fire between those three ships." the captain said.
"Aye captain. Firing now."
The beam melted right through thier shields, and hullplates, and reached the other end of the three ships before cutting out. The liquified metal, no longer having a heat source froze, becomming solid again, but now very brittle. The pressures of the vaccum, now having several voids in the metal, sucked all the air out of those ships, decompressing them, deck by deck, until they were nothing but debris. Then thier warp cores blew, sending debris flying everywhere.
"No damage to our, or the Fire Bird's shields. That sent a little flak towards our opponents there, though." the ensign said.
"That was really quite something, eh, Sytok?" The captain asked.
"The effects... were definetely not what Admiral Morrow expected. He expected the results to be like phaser fire. Actually destroying the metal, not merely melting it. The effects, were, however... impressive." He said.
"Wait... you mean to say... ADMIRAL MORROW underestimated this ship? Geez. Between the klingons and the admiralty... it's no wonder no one knows about this ship." She said, laughing.
"Engineering to Bridge." Came an odd voice.
"Bridge here." She replied, counting the three people on the bridge, and the two downside, she was glad to know atleast one of the three other people on board was an engineer.
"Captain, it's Yeoman Lungo. We've got a minor power-fluctuation down here regarding that over-powered particle cannon shot. The chrono-warp core is going to have to be taken off-line for two minutes while I fix it." Came the soft voice, which hissed at all the s-sounds.
A YEOMAN is our chief engineer? The captain thought...
"Very well Yeoman, go ahead." She replied.
"Captain...perhaps you don't realize... that means we can not fire the particle cannon, use the Iron curtain, or, more importantly, run." Sytok said.
"Sytok! YOU are now underestimating this ship. We CAN fire the particle cannon at a REDUCED rate, and we CAN run at a slower pace on standard warp. HOWEVER if we continue to use the Chrono-warp core as our primary power source, and it is undergoing power fluctuations, either A: We can be destroyed, B: We can be sent either backwards or forwards in time, or C: we can blow the chrono-warp core up, damaging several decks, if not most of the ship, and be in the same place we are now, except that we are a few fries short of a happy meal, and a few decks short of a happy captain." She said, somewhat angrily.
Sytok nodded, realizing now that she did not give out orders without thinking them through properly.
"Captain, the Fire Bird is firing." The ensign said quietly.
"Ensign... speak up. And tell us your name." Lenara said, getting tired of calling her 'ensign'.
"I...am ensign Katherine Morrow." She said quietly.
Sytok's eyebrows went up.
"Ensign...morrow...?" Lenara said, clearly surprised.
"Daughter or grand-daughter?" Sytok asked.
"Daughter, Sir." Katherine replied.
"Well, I don't like being overly condescending towards my crew. I intend to call both you, and the nice yeoman down in engineering by thier first names, like I do with Sytok, and with the exception of Sytok, I expect you all to return the gesture." Lenara said.
"Aye, Lenara." Katherine said.
Sytok shook his head.
"This is Captain Lenara Sulu to the crew, which I know most of. As of right now, due to the rather small size of this ship, I intend to start utilizing first names, rather then rank, or last names. Don't be afraid to introduce yourself." She said over the comm.
"Lenara... The klingon fleet is gone."
That brought both Sytok and Lenara's attention back on the ensign.
"How?" Lenara asked.
"As I said. The fire bird was firing. They fired that big thaleron generator of thiers, and it ATE the opposing fleet's crew." She said in reply.
"Well... now we just have to wait for the Tesla to show up, so Kirsty can take all the credit." Lenara said, somewhat sarcasticly.
"Captain, if I may... Kirsty would not have recieved the credit, even had our roles been reversed. You are the Flagship's captain. Your win, your glory, your loss, your shame." Sytok said.
"Alright Sytok... One question... I've only met five of the Seven other crew members on board. You, Kat, Jax, Jackson, and Lungo. Who is left?" She asked.
"Well... There is 'The Doctor', EMH mark 3, and Ensign Lyn Segundo, who is our cook." Sytok said.
"Hold up! You mean.... other then you and me... there is currently not a single person over the rank of ensign on board?" She asked.
"Correct, Captain. One Yeoman, two ensigns, and a hologram."
"Captain! Reports comming from the planet! Those klingons were just a distraction, there's a cloaked Klingon Bird of Prey attacking the planet below. So far...Oh god..." The ensign trailed off.
"Kat?" The captain asked.
"Forty three andorians, including Lt. Commander Jackson... and one human." Katherine said.
"WHAT?" She yelled.
Sytok looked down, and said something in Vulcan.
"FIND IT. Lock the bloody particle cannon on it, and devote the whole bloody warp core into blowing that bloody ship to pieces." Lenara said angrily.
"Engineering to bridge, This is Yeoman Lamia Lungo, You have Chrono-warp core again."
"Thanks Lamia." the captain said quickly.
"Kat, change that last order. You find that ship, you blow it to hell devoting BOTH cores to do so." She said.
Sytok's eyebrows went up, but he did not say anything.
"Allied re-inforcements in 1 minute." Eva's voice said.
"Fire Bird to the Chronoshift, I remind you that my vessel has no defencive capabilities for 7 minutes after firing the Thaleron wave." Telara's voice came from the comm unit.
"No worries, Telara. We're about to give you a firework show." She replied.
"Fire Bird copies. Looking forward to it, Len." telara's voice said.
"Got it!" The ensign said.
The whole ship seemed to whine at the power being unleashed.
The klingon raider ship... hit with an incredible burst of energy, simply exploded into roughly 19 trillion pieces no bigger then 2 centimetres square.
"That was rather beautiful, Lenara." Telara's voice came over the comm again.
"I thought so too." She said with a smirk.
I am commanding the most powerful ship in TWO fleets... with a yeoman, a vulcan, two ensigns and a hologram to help me... My god... how the hell am I going to do this? She thought to herself.

Chapter 1.3: Introductions

NX- Chronoshift - Briefing room.
Lenara looked casually around the briefing room. The command crew of the other two vessels of this "Strike team" and her ENTIRE crew was present...
"Alright, we are going to introduce everyone now, Starting with the Chronoshift crew. In order, Ranking highest to lowest in rank, Commander Sytok, First Officer, Ensign Kathrynn Morrow Nav&Con officer, Ensign Linda Segundo Cook, EMH Mark 3 Chief Medical Officer, and Yeoman Lamia Lungo, Chief of Engineering." Lenara said slowly. The snake-like woman from engineering hissed in amusement at her rank-title combination.
Telara's eyebrows went up.
"Len, I knew you were running a skeleton crew... but other then Sytok, not a single person above ensign?" She asked.
"Well.. we HAD two lt. Commanders... but they kinda died planetside." She said, slightly annoyed.
"Len...killing your 3rd and 4th highest ranking officers on your first mission...isn't exactly a good indicator of your command capabilities." Telara retorted.
"Moving right along..." Kirsty said, slightly amused. "... The command crew of the NX-Tesla. Commander Elaina Scott, Chief engineer, Commander Sinise, Chief Ops& Security, Lt. Commander T'ella, Nav&con officer, Lt. Junior grade Sajak, Science officer, EMH Marks 1 and 2, chief/assistant chief medical officer, and last, but not least, Captain T'anja, Acting First Officer."
"A CAPTAIN.. a VULCAN captain as a first officer, Kirsty?" Len asked.
"Better then having a Yeoman for a chief mechanic, Len. Don't knock it." Kirsty retorted.
"Ahh.. My turn." Telara said mildly amused. "The whole lot of them don't understand what I'm saying cause they only speak rihanna, and can't, for the life of them, figure out how the heck to use a Universal Translator. Thier names are rather irrelevant, because they are all useless idiots with the collective IQ of an ant farm. They are all Subcenturions, and I hope they evolve into something with a brain before they become Captains, or Commodores.
"Ahh.. Commodore... I missed your sense of humor." Lenara said, with a laugh.
"Sytok, you still got a sense of humor?" Telara asked, in Rihanna, for the benefit of her crew.
"He is vulcan! He has no sense of humor!" one of the Subcenturions said.
"Much as you are Rihannsu, and haven't a single IQ point to use in this battle of wits, Subcenturion. I suggest you withdraw as you are apparently uarmed." Sytok retorted in Rihanna.
This gained a great deal of laughter from everyone present.
"I believe, Commander Sytok, that you are more Rihanna then Vulcan." One of the subcenturions said.
Sytok's eyebrows rose, and a frown placed itself on his face.
"Subcenturion, if I were you I would remove those words, before Commander Sytok removes one of your vital organs." Telara said quietly.
"Aye Commodore." Came the simple reply.
"Red alert! All hands to the bridge! Unidentified vessel on the scanners." Came a voice from Kirsty's commbadge.
"We have achieved battle alert, Commodore. Please report to the bridge." Came a voice from Telara's commbadge.
"We are now at Defcon 1. All hands please report to the bridge. Enemy re-inforcements in 2 minutes." Eva's voice came from every comm-panel in sight.
"Ahh..Len? What the hell is Defcon 1?" Kirsty asked.
"It's Eva's idea of Red Alert." Lenara replied.
"Ah."

--
RDF Firebird
--

Telara sat down in her chair.
"Give me a read out on that ship! What the hell is it?" She ordered.
The stupid subcenturions went about displaying every detail they could find.
"It's... What did you call it?" She asked.
"Starfleet records list it as 'Sona'. Sir." Came the quick reply.

--
Tesla
--

Kirsty stared at the viewscreen.
"Sona! I thought Picard showed them a lesson!" She exclaimed angrily.
"Sir! Sub-space weapons are charged on the lead vessel!" the science officer said.

--
Chronoshift
--
"Warning. Unknown Superweapon charged in 2 minutes. Firebird is still disabled from Scud-Storm launch." Eva's voice said.
"Uh..Captain..what is a 'scud storm'?" Kat asked.
"I believe, Admiral Morrow said it was a bio-weapon used in the war... something to do with anthrax...same result in the end. Destruction, and loss of life." Lenara replied.
"Engineering to the bridge. Lenara Sssulu, please be advisssed that we are temporarily out of sssstandard Warp coressss. Thisss one isss not behaving." Lamia's voice came from the intrecomm.
"Engineering, Bridge checks." She replied.
"Captain...the 'unknown superweapon' appears to be a subspace-based weapon on a SONA warship. I was under the impression that Captain Jean-Luc Picard had removed the Sona threat several months ago, in the 'briar patch'." Sytok said, mildly unimpressed.
"Subspace weaponry? Joy." Len said, rather annoyed.
"Captain! We hasss no chrono-warp core! We hass nothing! They are attacking ussss with a computer algotrithym which isss dessstroying our main computer core!" Lamia's voice came from the comm-panel.
"Fix it! I don't care how, you fork-tongued devil! Just fix it! I don't care if you sacrifice a small goat to the main computer, I want that chrono-warp core online!" Lenara replied angrily.
"Captain, I should point out that in Selarian cultures, they sacrifice tall bi-peds, similar to you, or Ensign Morrow, not small goats." Sytok said.
"I don't care! I can't fight on IMPulse power! The prism network, and the weather...storm..generator... How many ships are out there?" Lenara asked.
"12. Captain. A full dozen." Sytok said, mildly annoyed.
"Cut power to everything. Charge the weather storm generator. Tell everyone to 'get back'." She replied.
"Captain? An Ion storm? But..." Sytok trailed off.
"It's been proven scientifically Sytok! Sub-space weapons can not function during Ion Storms. They are useless! Plus, if we use it right, we might even take out a few opponents!" She said.
"And then we will be dead in the water for 12 minutes while it recharges." Sytok said.
"That's why we have back-up, Sytok." She replied.
Sytok's eyebrows rose.

Chapter 2.0: Stalemate.

"Warning! Catastrophic lightning storm aproaching!" Eva said from Lenara's laptop.
Sytok's eyebrows rose.
"Sytok...you better figure out how to shut her up, it's getting on my nerves." Lenara said.
Sytok had a polite smile on his face.
"Captain! We hassss a warp core now! It'ss on cold sssstart though! sssix minutesss before power comesss!" The intercomm from engineering exclaimed.
Lenara smiled.
"Telsa reports that they are ready to stop any attack incomming." Kat said.
"As does the firebird." Sytok said.
Lenara smiled broadly.
"Put me on broadcast, Kat." Lenara said.
"Aye sir." Kat replied.
"Channel open." Eva said.
"Attention Sona scum. This is your opponent speaking. I intend to remove your ugly ships from this time stream, however, if you can give me a good reason why I shouldn't, please do respond." Lenara said, pretending to be irate.
"Attention Statorfleet starship! After your Picard killed our military Leader, We have decided to wage open war with you." Came a slightly more irate voice.
"That's all fine and dandy. How do you intend to do that now?" She replied.
"Your underpowered fleet will taste Sona power!" The voice retorted.
"Warning. Ion cannon activated. Warning. Catastrophic Lightning storm manifesting!" Eva's voice exclaimed.
"I think your laptop is getting confused, Captain." Sytok said, deadpan.
"That is an understatement, Sytok." She whispered.
"Fire the subspace weapon!" the Sona commander exclaimed.
"Sir! There is an Ionnic/Tachyonic storm manifesting! Our weapons cannot function in this vaccinity!" a voice in the background exclaimed.
Lenara's smile returned.
Sytok's eyebrows rose.
"I was unaware you were not bluffing, Captain." Sytok said quietly.
"Sytok, if Admiral Morrow had a brain in his head, I knew he would add a tachyon based temporal imbalance, which would disrupt sub-space, based on the fact that we can't use chrono-warp while the Ion storm is in place." She replied, also quietly.
"Charge phasers! Obliterate that ship!" A voice came over the intercomm.
"Warning. A scud storm has been launched." Eva's voice came from the laptop.
Sytok's eyebrows rose.
Lenara stared down at the laptop, opened it, and quickly looked at the tactical display.
"Telara?" She asked him.
He looked down at his console.
"Indeed, captain. Apparently, she is using our attack as a temporary blockout of sensors to charge up her Thaleron generator." He said, rather quietly.
"So you underestimated HER too?" Lenara asked.
"Apparently, Captain." Sytok said glumly.
She looked at the view screen.
A sona ship charged it's phasers, and attempted to fire.
However, by polarizing it's weapons bay, it attracted the Ionnic based storm, which struck the weapons socket with an energy/tachyon lightning bolt.
The ship's power system overloaded, giving the entire ship a charge. The Ion storm blasted it to bits.
However, this also absorbed all the power within the storm.
It dissipated rather quickly, now that the energy charge had been equalized.
"Great. 1 down, 11 to go." Kat sat, rather grimly.

---
Tesla
---
Kirsty grinned.
"Our turn. 1 minute to firing sequence, let's pave the way." Kirsty instructed one of the random vulcans.
"Captain?" The vulcan replied mildly confused.
"Fire OUR thaleron generator." She said calmly.

---
Firebird
---
"Commodore! The Tesla...Is...Firing..."A subcenturion said
"Mind finishing that sentence, subcenturion?" Telara asked.
"A THALERON weapon!" He finished.
"I know. The Tesla has similar, but slightly more advanced upgrades as we have. We are still barely able to fight after our last little blast, but they will not be disabled. They will have half a minute of reduced firing capacity." Telara replied.
"How!" The subcenturion asked.
"They have a warp core devoted entirely to producing thaleron matrixes. They use a TRANS-Warp core for standard power." She replied.

---
Chronoshift
---
"Captain...it is not Telara we are underestimating. The Tesla has fired a Thaleron volley." Sytok said.
Lenara's eyebrows rose.

Chapter 2.1 Stalemate-part II
Chronoshift Engineering.
-------

Lamia slithered around engineering, at a rather fast rate for someone with a 5 foot long tail instead of two legs. She quickly went from one console to the other, constantly yelling at the stupid repair drones.
"Isss that it? Did it work?" She asked one of them.
"1010100101111110100110110" It replied.
"Eva, transsslate that gobbledegook for me pleassse." She said, looking over at the main computer console.
"Roughly translates to an affirmative response." Eva said.
"Yesss! We hassss chrono-warp!"

Bridge
-------------
Sytok's console lit up.
"Captain, our standard warp core is still down. Chrono-warp is on-line." He said quietly.
Lenara stared out at the opposing fleet.
"What did Kirsty's thaleron volley do?" She asked.
"Nothing. Sona warships are apparently equipped with bio-burning shields. Any form of radiation, which may or may not include prism fire appear to completely be ineffective. However, I believe a few tesla volleys, or the particle cannon may be more effective." He replied.
"Warning. Unknown superweapon activated." Eva said.
"What the hell?" Kat asked.

A subspace tear opened up. The thaleron radiation, mixed with the destruction of the first sona vessel permitted enough of a lightening on the ion storm for the remaining sona fleet to fire.
"Sytok, Iron curtain?" She asked
"Negative captain, that requires both cores to be online." He replied.
"Captain!" Kat exclaimed.
"What is it, Kat?" Lenara asked.
"Why not re-use the weather storm generator? If it's-" She was cut off.
"Ensign, for future reference the Weather Storm generator has a 5 minute recharge time." Sytok interjected.
"Damn." Kat finished.
"Unknown superweapon activated." Eva said.
Sytok's eyebrows rose.
A large beam of an unknown energy eminated from... The subspace tear.
It ripped the sona fleet into shreds.
"Shields down to 30 percent!" Sytok exclaimed.
"Firebird losing shields, they are retreating!" Kat yelled over the numerous damage klaxons.
"Tesla reports that they are also retreating." Sytok countered.
"Captain! Whatever that wassssss it fried our weather sssstorm generator! We hassss prisssm, and we hasss particle cannon, and we hasss phassserssss, and photon torpedoesss, but don't be expecting any temporal miraclesss." The intercomm blared.
"Shields are failing!" Sytok exclaimed.
"Warp core isss up!" The intercomm blared again.
"GOOD! ABOUT BLOODY TIME! Charge the Iron curtain." Lenara quickly odered.
"Warning. Iron Curtain activated." Eva said.
Lenara shot a look at sytok.
"It's in the works Len, I'm a little busy." Sytok said quickly.
The ship was covered, from every viewport in an inpenetrable metallic field, which would last hopefully long enough to outlast this strange outburst.
"Captain... the mixture of Thaleron Radiation, the leftovers of the Ion Storm, and the subspace tear appear to have created a subspace particle fountain. I recommend we retreat at fastest possible speed." Sytok said, after finally configuring the sensors properly.
"Kat, fastest possible speed. Pick a direction and go!" Lenara exclaimed.
"Aye captain, heading 2, 3, 1 mark 1. Warp 9.9." came the quick reply.
"Not an advisable direction, ensign." Sytok said quietly.
"Why the hell not" Lenara asked.
"Because..."Sytok was cut off.
"Enemy re-inforcements have arrived." Eva exclaimed.
"She just put us across the klingon border, captain." Sytok said quietly.
Lenara's head fell.

Chapter 3.0 Bad tactics.

Lenara looked at sytok.
"Where is our back-up?" She asked him.
"Both the Tesla and the Firebird appear partially disabled on the other side of the border... we won't be counting on them for help." Sytok replied.
Lenara shook her head.
"Incomming transmission." Eva said.
"You are a rather annoying starship, 'chronoshift'. I will kill you for what you have done to my brother and his fleet." Came an angry voice.
"Notice how none of these guys ever say 'welcome to klingon space, how may I help you today'?" Kat asked.
Sytok's eyebrows rose.
Lenara shook her head.
"Captain... we hassss weather sssstorm in 2 minutessss. And then it needsssss a 5 minute quick-charge. However, mossst of our weaponry isss ssstill disssabled from the iron curtain." The intercomm called out.
Lenara cursed.
"Captain... we can retreat, or we can hide. Those are our choices." Sytok said.
"Cloaking field. Now. Charge a chrono-jump. Somewhere friendly." Lenara quickly replied.
The cloaking field went up, the shields went down, a disrupter blast hit a warp pilon, and... chronshift.

----------------------------------------------------
Time lapse.
----------------------------------------------------
Chapter 3.1: Twin spin.

Chronoshift - 20 minutes ago.

"Great. 1 down, 11 to go." Kat sat, rather grimly.

Chrono-shift: Time-slip
The chronoshift drifted back to thier rally point on the federation side of the border.
"Unknown vessel detected." Eva said quietly.
"Captain... I believe we have a bit of trouble on our hands." Sytok said slightly quieter.
"What do you mean."

Chronoshift-20 minutes ago.
"Warning. Unknown vessel detected." Eva's voice said quietly.
"What the hell?" Lenara asked.
"Warning. Chronosphere activated." Eva's voice came out.
On the viewscreen, exploding from nowhere, came another chronoshift.

--------
Tesla
--------
Kirsty stared at the viewscreen in shock.
"What the hell?" She asked.
"Captain?" A random vulcan asked, mildly confused.
"Fire OUR thaleron generator... and avoid BOTH chronoshifts." She said calmly.
"No effect, captain." The vulcan replied.
"Captain! One of the Sona warbirds is attacking Telara! Her defences are still down!" Another vulcan exclaimed.

The Firebird exploded into a huge thaleron-based explosion.
A sona warship fired a sub-space weapon.
And the sona fleet dissapeared.

Chronoshift: Future that should no longer exist.
Lenara stared at the readings.
"What the hell?" She asked Sytok.
Sytok's eyebrows rose.

Chronoshift: 20 minutes ago.
Lenara stared at the readings.
"What the hell?" She asked Sytok.
Sytok's eyebrows rose.

Tesla:
"Captain... an unknown vessel has come out of a temporal rift created by the destruction of the Sona fleet while using a sub-space weapon." A vulcan said quietly.

Temporal Federation Timeship Chronoshift:
Captain Laurent Van den Haus stared at the scene which had flagged the chronoshift's sensors like a christmas tree.
He stared at his viewscreen.
"Report?" He asked.
Commander T'pash stared at her sensors.
"Captain, one of those chronoshifts... should not exist." She said quietly.

Should-not-be-here Chronoshift:
"Hail them." Lenara said.
"Aye captain." Kat whispered.

NX Chronoshift:
Lenara stared at the viewscreen.
"Captain... there is ANOTHER chronoshift on the viewscreen... but it isn't a chronoshift like the duplicate there. This one... is flagging a temporal directive issue the USS Voyager encountered... something about a "temporal federation"." Sytok said quietly.
"Joy." She replied quietly.

TFT Chronoshift:
Laurent stared quietly at the viewscreen.
"We are being hailed by... the chronoshift that shouldn't exist." Commander T'pash said.
Laurent stared quietly at the viewscreen.
"Captain.. we have to intervene. The RDF firebird is a critical vessel in the upcomming Klingon wars, and without it, the klingons will defeat the federation, and the temporal federation will cease to exist." Tranna said quietly.
"Tranna, your mother just died on that ship. YOU shouldn't exist." Laurent whispered.

-----
Temporal Wave-shift.
-----

The thaleron/ionnic/sup-space tear ripped all three chronoshifts into the future.
Through temporal shielding, the Temporal Federation of Planets and Timeframes had managed to keep it's fleet intact, however, the entire quadrant was now klingon-dominated.

"Welcome to the future, Captains Lenara Sulu." A strange voice said.
Both Lenaras looked up from their respective laptops.
"Who the hell?" they both asked simultaneously.
"I am Q." The voice replied.
"Joy." They both said at the same time.
Both sytok's eyebrows rose.
"Due to your time-tampering, it appears you assisted your opponents, however, there is some kind of serious time-stream issues going on here, that I have orchestrated so that you may attempt to correct the time-line. First you have to save the future, however." Q said. Then he laughed, and dissapeared.

TFT Chronoshift- Briefing room.
The three-way conference table had an interesting collection of guests, Laurent thought. Sitting in a triangle, Both Lenara's sat at the tip of the triangle opposite to him, then Sytoks sat on either side, with katherine morrows on the opposite side of him. Then there were lamias on either side of the Katherine morrows, and linda segundos on either side of the lamias. It was disconcerting.
"Alright, From what I can tell, ladies, and gentlemen, we shouldn't exist. However, in a unique twist of fate, there are currently two duplicate ships from the past in the future, which has been altered by these two ships, and thus caused a massive temporal collapse, when they were pulled from the past. No longer armed with either the chronoshift, or the firebird, the Federation quickly was forced to surrender to the Klingon armada that the three ships were supposed to take on, and only one ship was supposed to survive. However, That ship, the NX-Tesla, was the only ship that MADE IT to that battle, and was destroyed. Now we have to handle a klingon empire who has unknown technologies, which are probably vastly superior to ours, and we have this annoying thing called a "temporal starfleet command" which apparently, has just been destroyed. We don't have back-up, and we have to liberate an entire federation, before we can handle our opponents." Laurent said.
Both Lenara's cursed under their breath, and both Sytok's rose thier eyebrows, and whispered "Fascinating."
Both katherine morrows found this funny as hell, and fell off their chairs laughing.
Laurent shook his head.
"Captain, this is never going to work." Commander T'pash said quietly.

----------------------
The gaurdian of never.
----------------------
Kirsten Kim stared up at the starships frozen inside this time/space un-reality.
There was an entire future that was supposed to exist, and now could not exist here.
Your friends need your help, but I cannot help them. A strange voice came from everywhere, and nowhere.
Kirsty looked up.
She saw trillions of starships.
They had pretty names like "Monitor" and "Voyager" and "Flamming Vengance."
And the most beautiful of them all, hung there. Suspended next to a similar looking ship.
Both ships had "Tesla" written on them.
She sighed.
"Kirsten? Kirsten Lipton?" A strangely familiar voice asked.
She turned around.
"Einstein?" She asked.
"Ah, yes. I thought it was you ensign." HE replied.
It was HIM. Einstein. The one who had started this mess. Standing next to him was Commodore Telara.
"Kirsty." She said with a smile.
I cannot help you, child. But perhaps.... just perhaps, you three can figure something out on your own. The voice said, again, comming from everything and nothing.
She looked up, into the sky, and saw something she had read about, but did not believe could have ever existed.
The Temporal Federation Timeship Tesla.
It was rumored to have been seen by a dominion warship in the gamma quadrant, but it couldn't stay in phase with the current time-stream long enough to do anything.
She stared at it, floating next to the Excelsior class starship Tesla.
"There are like... 3 tesla's up there." She said aloud.
"Actually, Kirsty, there are 7. There aren't any chronoshifts though. According to the gaurdian all three that we know about, plus one that shouldn't exist at all, but does because the firebird and the chronoshift weren't at some battle in the future, and apparently, we lost to the klingons. THE KLINGONS have a starship that's name translates into Chronoshift." Telara said quietly.
Kirsten cursed loudly.
"Ladies, ladies. I have been working on this toy... I thought you two might enjoy. It's a small three-person chronoshift device that should be able to work here. We should be able to board one of those ships." Einstein said.
Both Kirsten, and Telara's eyes lighted up.

Chapter 3.2: Future: Sector 001
The interim manager of earth could not believe what he was seeing.
There were three ships on his sensor grid that DID NOT have klingon signatures! The rebellion?
"Open a hailing frequency." He said to his aide.
The young man nodded his head, and opened it.
"This is Interim Manager Morrow, of the klingon colony world Earth. Please state the nature of your visit." He said.
"This is one of the Temporal Federation Timeship Chronoshifts. There are... three here. We are here to correct a time-space slip which appears to have cause Earth, and the entire federation to fall under klingon control. Please respond only if you have something that can assist us." Came the quick reply.
Morrow's eyes rose.
Chronoshift?
...
He stared at the scanner-screen.
HOLY *beep*! LENARA!... AND KATHERINE!.... times... two? He thought to himself.
"Morrow to the rebellion leader. I think we need to have a quick chat." He said into a different channel.
"Manager Morrow, this is Rebellion Leader Andrea Scott. I read you." Came the reply.
"Andrea, we have just recieved temporal re-inforcements." He said quietly.
"Manager morrow! Our channel is being monitored!" his aide exclaimed.
"Beam us up! Now!" Morrow exclaimed.
"Aye, Manager." Scott replied.

----------------
Rebellion Dreadnought Ion Storm
----------------
Interim Manager morrow stared around the bridge he had materialized on. He hadn't realized the Rebellion had built such a large starship.
"Welcome aboard, Manager Morrow." Andrea said with a smile.
"Captain! The Klingon Patrol Fleet Chronoshift just destroyed the manager's office." her first officer exclaimed.
"Hail the chronoshifts." Morrow said with a smile.
"Chronoshifts?" She asked.
Morrow smiled even broader.
