PostTue Apr 10, 2007 4:25 pm    My... stuff? (Image Warning: Beware dial-up users)

I messed up the last thread royally, by deleting the images on photobucket ><. (I'm finding more and more I've gotta fix, Myspace....the realzation I've lost pet pictures, as I forgot the copies on a CD went corrupt...)

I was messing around with images and whatnot with this one. Made with GIMP. I took the side shot of a Prometheus-class (Joined) and the Terran Empire symbol (ENT version), fade it some..., made the word(s) the top layer. I probably don't have everything centered right, I've used the grid alignlment. Credit to persons that rended the ship, and the Terran symbol. Just for those that are curious, this is work for an upcoming idea for DSG.

Well, I've just installed the Matrix trilogy font . I was playing around, and decided to see how the font would look in the 3D-ish logos I like to do. I choose the name Reboot, as I wanted an "R" title, and Reboot is a computer term to .

Made this one for an RPG I had going, the image itself is a screen shot from "In a Mirror, Darkly". I didn't realize it at the time, but the image has sort of a red glow on it, works well with the words, I think.

Juuuuuust a little somethng I had made for DSG one day, I wanted to see how things would look trying differnt things. I don't know who to credit for the space background, I found it someplace...I wonder if I still have the unaltered version?

A poor attempt at making a Starfield. The top is attempt number two, the bottom number one. I used this from an older tut Capt. Pat. had before we had the unfourtinate hacking problem with the hosts servers.

An old (And ugly) attempt by me to do a mission patch. It's much to bright, and...square . I was still (And am still) very new to image manipulation!. (Credit goes to maker of the NX-class Render) I'm afraid the quote escapes me, and I am far, far to lazy to look it up at this time

HAH! This one, I simply covered up "Enterprise" and replaced with Challenger. Was easy . I'm sure I have the Font dead wrong, though. Credit to original image maker.

Many should recognize this one! I might've hd to alter the font, I really can't remember....I had "specs" written someplace on a word document (The font, size, color etc...) dunno if I still have them. I recently had to get Tachyon to resend me the templates for the plaques, as I had lost them . This is not the "final" version that was posted on STV. I might someday make a newer one, I don't know...

Extreamly poor attempt! this was done for an MU RPG/Story. I think the quote is something like "Knowlege is power". Credit goes to the makers of the NX image, which is I believe, an

An AV I did! I'm kinda proud of it (Though, I think my current came out better).

Another AV I did, I got the idea for the one posted before this one, when I saw I had space left over....

A title image for DSG . I can't remember if we used this one, or not. Image is a screenshot from an episode, which the name escapes me. being as it's of Bajor, it's most likely a DS9 episode.

This was the final image for an episode, I was new, and missed a step for the first line, hence the absance of the "glow"

What I Thought was the final attempt . As before, missed a step...picture is a screenshot of a...Voyager Episode I think? It's Utopia Planitia (Which is funny as a subplot took place at Utopia Planitia)

This was a test to show Founder what it could look like.

I missed enterprise! I made this...tribute thing, lol. The Image is a promo picture of the ship. I hadn't really learned alignment yet, it's one of the first things I did in GIMP.

Awesome! I haven't got a clue how to make those 3D fonts, but they look neat!

I think the second starfield is great, I haven't gotten a chance to play around with that tutorial yet, but it looks like it works wonderfully!

Yeah, I've been meaning to try out that tutorial as well. I just haven't run into a need for it. I've just downloaded various fonts to give myself more of a variety. These are the kind of fonts I've gotten:

There are others that I just haven't used yet.

That's cool. I'm going to get new fonts to. I've done several with that tut, and so far, I like the "Final Frontier" font. Pretty adaptable! It really all depends on the size, color, and lettering, though.

Good job with the AV's .

Thanks!

Yeah, I go for a lot more of the Art Neveau type fonts as more of an acent to the picture, rather than the picture themselves.

HEHE.... I got Final Frontier and Matrix from

http://simplythebest.net/fonts/

It has many, many cool fonts there. Including movies/TV.

That first on with Hades, its the first picture of that type that I've done in some time with images like that, I've used images before, but not as...well? as easily? I dunno, tis seems differnt.

Cool! I think that one is the best font and color choice of all the ones up there
