I always found it quite fascinating that for a Star Trek series called Voyager and featuring lots of new different alien species towards the beginning of the show like the Kazon and the Vidiians, the Borg certainly seemed to "take over the show" sort of speak towards the end--at least they did to me. All of it, of course, coincided with Seven's arrival on the show.
But since we'd see a Borg (well, ex-drone) in virtually almost every episode (as Seven became a member of the crew permanently), should there have been fewer Borg-related episodes overall and replaced by shows focusing on the more stranger Delta Quadrant species?
I've compiled a list of all of the episodes that showed Borg other than Seven (either real encounters, brief showings or dream sequences) at the start of Seven's arrival on Voyager--not counting the 3rd season episodes "Unity" and "Scorpion, Part 1". Let's see how many ther were:
Scorpion, Part 2
The Raven
One
Hope And Fear
Drone
Dark Frontier
Survival Instinct
Collective
Child's Play
Unimatrix Zero, Part 1
Unimatrix Zero, Part 2
Endgame
Did I miss any?
I have absolutely nothing against the Borg--they're one of my favorite all-time Star Trek aliens right up there with the Klingons, the Jem Ha'Dar, and the Cardassians. I simply think the Borg were featured too much for a ship that was supposed to be going places--even if the Borg exist in all parts of the galaxy.
In my opinion, the only Borg episodes should've been those that threatened to keep Voyager from continuing it's mission to return to Earth. The "Scorpion" 2-parter was a prime example, as the crew had to side with the Borg to make it beyond the Northwest Passage infiltrated by Species 8472. And "Endgame" itself, where the transwarp hub network stood between potentially several more light-years in the Delta Quadrant or an instant portal back home.
To me, all of the other Borg episodes centering around the building of Seven's character made it seem like Voyager was still dead in the water inside Borg space and not really going anywhere. A few huge Borg episodes is cool, but it would've truly been nice had the show featured more original alien species.
Comments anyone?

yes, most likely. but didn't the same thing happen in DS9 with bajorans? It the fact the Delta Quadrant is the home of the borg, thus it would be logical you would ee more of them. Also trhey contro la large part of the quadrant and thus it would be logical you se them more then Hirogen, Kazon or Malon.

"End Game" had 2 part too.
i don't agree there where not enough other alien species they encountered. In almost every episode they met with a new species, only a few of those kept reappearing and all where very interesting.
I have to agree that most borg episodes where immediately huge, taking up a lot of attention by the Voyager crew whenever encountered. But thats just it with the borg isn't it? They are so huge and dangerous(well, later on a lot less).

Yes, you do have a point. I do remember there was a point when the Bajorans seemed to "rule" over DS9 back in the day, so I suppose featuring the Borg prominently makes sense as it is their native territory.
I guess I wish the Borg episodes were "spread out" a bit more. Even though Kes's powers catapulted them free of Borg space back in "The Gift", they seemed to dominate the series in the last three seasons of the show as if they were still in Borg space.
I wonder if the writers had considered featuring the Borg in the beginning of the show. Would that have been too weird? That way, they could've had like maybe one big Borg episode per season to make it really seem like the Borg were all over the quadrant. I would've been fine with this instead of kinda clumping all the Borg episodes towards the end of Voyager's run. In fact, now that I think about it, it should've been done this way--having the Borg featured once or twice every season to do them justice.
Oh, I forgot "Endgame" did have 2-parts
And you're right--new aliens were featured almost every week. I guess that's what made Voyager so different from the other series. Sometimes, I just got the feeling there was too much Borg and not enough new aliens.
